Experience an incredible location - the first on the globe to be included in the UNESCO Heritage inventory. On this journey, you will delve 140 metres beneath the earth’s surface to investigate captivating salt-made chambers and passageways. Get informed about the origins of salt extraction and observe genuine mining machinery. Your guide, who is fluent in English, will lead you on a nearly three-kilometre-long tour that lasts 2.5 hours.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- Each traveler is allowed a maximum size of any baggage allowed Wieliczka Salt Mine is 30x20x10 cm
- A current valid passport is required on the day of travel
- Temperatures underground ranges between 14 and 16 degrees Celsius so please bring warm clothing.
- There are 800 steps to climb so please wear comfortable shoes.
- Taking photographs for private purposes only
- Roundtrip transportation is available from most centrally located Krakow hotels. Please arrange pickup from your hotel or a nearby location when you call to confirm your reservation. You are required to wait at the reception 5 minutes before your scheduled pickup time.

Excellent tour - Artem was a great driver - the tour was amazing lots of walking and steps but well worth it - a very unique place - the tour guide was clear and knowledgeable

Brilliant trip to the salt mines - Brilliant trip well worth doing if visiting krakow. Gr8way were professional and friendly thoroughly recommended. The salt mines are a fantastic experience and not to be missed.

A mine definitely worth its salt! - By reputation the Salt mine is a must see place and I have to agree it is a place like no other I've been. Definitely worth a visit. Beware though there are many steps to descend and alot of walking. The guide we had was excellent and the highlight was the cavernous church that is still used on a weekly basis. It would appear there is no place that God can't be worshipped.
The trip certainly wouldn't have been the same if it wasn't for our driver, Artem, who drove the group there and back plus ensured everything went without a hitch at the mine. Thank you Artem

Friendly service from Artem and an amazing tour! - Our family had an amazing time at the salt mine. The transport to and from the venue was well organised, with a quality service provided by our friendly driver Artem. The views at the salt mine were amazing and the tour provided on English was really informative and interesting for us all including the kids, so we are so pleased we went.

Salt Mine Trip from Krakow - Artem picked us (3) up at our hotel to take us to the salt mines. We shared the transport with 5 other people. He organised our guided tour tickets and waited very patiently until we all came back out. He was a very good driver and dropped us all off at a place of our choice. We were part of a bigger group in the salt mine - about 20. It was very fast paced and sometimes difficult to hear the guide. I’d been before so I knew what to expect. A fascinating and very interesting place, steeped in history. Well worth seeing.

GR8WAY Services - Salt Mines - GR8Way Service - after a bad experience with the Auschwitz reservation we were afraid of what might happen. We had this visit reserved and paid for 12h15, when on the eve we are told that they will pick us up at 7h30 of the day, because on November 1 the mine was closed and there are more people to see the mine on the day 2 - actually the mine is closed every year on November 1 is not something unexpected. We didn't give in and we ended up getting a civilized hour, 4:00. We were picked up at hours, with tickets already bought, with useful information given by the driver (Peter) and well organized. Good and efficient service. Unfortunately, the driver Peter who seemed to be friendly and, when the trip even went well, got involved in a discussion with us where quickly went to the aggressiveness, antipathy and was poorly polite, talking to us in an unacceptable way without any reason. For a moment I thought he was gonna leave us in the middle of the street.
