unique place to visit - Nice place to visit, we were 100 meters below ground level. Lot of steps and long walk, but was worth it.

Surrounded by salt! - Breathtaking caverns cathedral churches carvings, all as far underground as the Eiffel Tower is tall. Katrina was a brilliant, knowledgable guide who brought the experience to life. A must do when visiting Kracow!

Unmissable experience - An incredible experience - you cannot come to Krakow and miss this! Amazing history and humbling Hunan effort - on such a massive scale. Beautifully preserved and presented.. Great guide and safety ensured throughout. Lots of steps but only down so easy to navigate. Unbelievable facilities even 135m down! Glad we were there in Feb as lack of crowds meant we could get the lift up with little queuing!

An amazing experience - Heard about the salt mine but never imagined the vast size and depth of the mine when visiting. There are alot of stairs to walk down but the sights waiting for you are breathtaking. You can't begin to imagine how the miners coped in such situations,it is like a huge maze tunnels leading off into more tunnels.Would definitely recommend visiting.

The tour is excellent and very well organised. - We selected a hotel pick and was contacted the day before with the pick up time. The coach arrived on time and took it 45 mins to the mine. On our arrival, we were directed to the entrance where we were met by our guide. She was brilliant, very professional, informative and spoke excellent English. The tour covered 3 of the 8 levels and was amazing. The only downside if any, would be if you struggle to walk any distance or struggle with stairs it was an 800 step staircases down to the start of the tour. I believe there is a disabled access so this may be better for some.

Highly recommend but a little rushed - Kept well informed of pick up times, excellent and knowledgeable guide. Fascinating mines with great history and much to admire. Some of the carvings were jaw dropping in their beauty and intricacy. A little rushed and could have done with a 20 minute break at the coffee shop not 10 mins bearing in mind the amount of walking you have to do. Besides this issue would highly recommend

Interesting but not too interesting - Interesting place, but definitely a tourist destination that felt like a roadside attraction rather than a piece of history. The chapels in the mine are extremely interesting, but otherwise it felt extremely commercial. I would only recommend if you have the time and money to spend. Krakow and surrounding areas have better to offer. The bus ride was fine, but there are cheaper ways to get to the mine.

Tour size was too big, but the cave was interesting - The tour was easy to book and instructions were clear for where to meet. Overall our tour group was far too big even after we were divided into 2 grouos upon arrival. We waited easily 30 min to enter the site standing in the freezing rain even though we had tickets and were sorted into the groups. There are a lot of stairs down to get into the mine and once there quite a lot of walking. Not complaining just calling this out. The tour felt a bit rushed to keep moving for groups behind us. With so many it was hard to hear the guide unless you stayed to the front. The end of the tour was strange. We had a stop at a snack bar for a few minutes to only later stop at a restaurant for 20 min. This was not enough time to get something to eat and enjoy it. Could have been better organized for sure. It was nice the restaurant is in the cave. After that the walk back to the elevators was quite long and then since our group was so big we split to take the lifts back to surface. Something got confused as we then again waited in the rain for the entire group to be joined back together. Another 5 min or so walk to the bus. Overall I would recommend a smaller group experience to be more enjoyable and more informative. It’s an interesting place and worth seeing.

Perfect until we were left stranded - This trip started out great. We arrived at the meeting point and the bus was on time. The bus driver checked our name off the list and we were on our way. Upon arrival to the drop off, we sat and waited in awkward silence for about 10 minutes until a Discover Rep boarded the bus. I thought it was weird that the Discover Rep told us to take all of our items off of the bus, but I figured it was for security reasons. We unloaded and we were separated into 2 different groups with a 30 minute gap. The tour was awesome although it seemed as if we were always waiting on the group in front of us and being rushed by the group behind us. Overall, our guide was great and seemed very knowledgeable. Upon completion, we were told the directions of public transportation. I thought that was weird being that our whole group had taken the bus. My family and another family made our way back to the bus drop off point to find an empty dark parking lot. The bus was gone. We started our tour at 1410 and it was projected to be about 2-3 hours. We arrived at the parking lot at 1700. Both of our families had younger children and it was cold and raining. I called the number on the sticker provided and I was told we weren't there at departure time. When I asked what time that was, I was told 1500. I couldn't get anyone to explain to me how we were supposed to be back at 1500 when our tour didn't start until 1410. In addition to that, we were never actually given a "final departure time" for the bus. I was also told that the bus driver had called us to see if we were coming and we told the bus driver that we would take a taxi. I couldn't believe anything I was hearing. Needless to say, we found transportation and made out way back. This was the most frustrating tour I've taken in ALL the tours I've taken. I would recommend the Salt Mine tour, just NOT with Discovery. You'd be better off going on your own and purchasing tickets on site.
