Auschwitz and salt mines - The guide on the tour was great, he told us a lot of great information and the sites were great as well.

Great experience! Definitely recommend - A real special experience would definitely recommend if you’re in Krakow. A long day but worth it and great if you’re limited for time

Interesting tour with tragic details - The tour was well organized and the guide was very knowledgable. All was very interesting, but discovering all those atrocities that were done to people was devastating, but everyone should become aware so that history doesn’t repeat itself!

Communication is key!! - To start : this review is about the service provided by AT Cracow and NOT about the world heritage site at Auschwitz-Birkenau (words would be totally inadequate there). Lesson learned for us: look up info & book as much in advance as possible. Suggested lesson for AT Cracow: clear & detailed communication (including transport details) would help customers & allay anxiety - and would have given you 5/5 stars & not 4/5. My friend booked on Sun 07 Dec 2025 for the Auschwitz-Birkenau camps & the Salt Mines for Wed 10 Dec 2025. The initial start time acc to AT Cracow was pick-up at 6:00 am, which morphed into a Whatsapp message in the afternoon on Tues 10 Dec moving the pick-up to 3:10 a.m., and that we'd need to queue up from the early hours with no guarantee of tickets. The vague wording was not helped by seeing many adverse reviews on TripAdvisor etc. The situation became more stressful at the pick up location by meeting other travellers who had far more detailed info (including the reg numbers of their pick up coaches etc). However, once the coach picked us up (03:20 instead of 03:10 - more anxiety), it was alright. We queued from 4:15 am till 06:30 (when the organisers announced that the site restaurant & facilities would open) so we could use loos, get coffee etc. We made new friendly acquaintances - Aussie, N Irish & Spanish- and chatted away. Once the museum started giving passes at 07:30, the museum's process seemed to swing into action and the AT Cracow organisers got our tickets sorted for a guided tour in English at 09:30. As this was sorted by 08:15, we had time to go to the canteen for coffee & breakfast. After the emotional intensity of the camps, those of us booked to go to the salt mines were again given vague info & we all got taken back to Krakow. The driver then announced that the salt mines gang would go on after dropping others off, and dropped us off at the mines - and gave us (finally) clear instructions re our puck up for the return to Krakow. We had an allocated English speaking guide for the salt mines tour who sorted everything most efficiently & the return to Krakow worked like clockwork. The Salt mines are amazing, very well done & some of the huge cavernous spaces (one converted into a church which holds services etc) were incredible. The whole site is beautifully maintained. The salt mines were a total contrast to the camps in the morning & left our minds in a whirl - not to mention our aching legs & feet & the almost 19 hour activity day. However, well done to AT Cracow for sorting it all out and giving us the full day we anticipated & expected. I'd have given a full 5 stars if we'd just had clearer detailed and timely communiqués.

Unacceptable - Dont book this or any other service from this tour provider. We were informed the previous day of the tour in the evening that we have to wake up at 2 am to catch the bus leaving from Krakow at 3 am. We arrived at Auschwitz at 4:30 am and we waited outside the gates without heat or toilet until 6:30 am when the gates opened. Then we stayed in the line to buy tickets until 10:30 am. We had already paid for tickets and priority line but the tickets from the museum site were already sold out. So we waited to get the individual tickets that were left unsold. This agency should have already bought the tickets and not tell us there will be tickets if we stayed in the line. We were lucky to get the tickets because there could be a possibility to not find any and we would return back to Krakow. There was not a single person with us except a bus driver who didn't know English. The only thing that this agency provides to you is an extremely overpriced bus ride from Krakow to Auschwitz and back. All the other services like guides in both Auschwitz and salt mine are already included in the price of the tickets. If you want to go to any of these sites just book them from the official websites and rent a car. It will be cheaper and less exhausting.

Disaster of a company - Absolute disaster of a company! I wish I read the reviews before booking. We booked a tour for 6 am. After we got a confirmation it said the pick up may start as early as 3-4 am but the evening before they said pick up is 2 am. I contacted on whatsapp to ask about a refund. They said on whatsapp I could get a refund if I sent an email. The email bounced back and I didn't hear from the provider after that with no further answers on whatsapp. We went on the tour as we were not going to get the money back. We arrived around 3 am and we were to queue until gates opened at 6.30 am in the freezing cold. We were then informed that we would 'hopefully ' get a tour around 10am depending on how much demand there was for the English tours. We were really disappointed but left before the gates opened as it was hours more queing outside than we had anticipated when we booked the tour. Very expensive for what is offered. It would be much better to book skip the line with an organised company that has good communication!

Terrible, don't book here! - Don't book! We booked the skip the line service with pick up time 6 hours. Immediately after booking I was informed that skip the line could not be guaranteed due to crowds and the pick-up time was now 4 hours. We had to wait 2 hours outside in the cold in line for tickets, we didn't enter until 9.30. Because we also had the salt mine, the day that was supposed to be finished around 5 o'clock became very long. We finished at 8 o'clock. Entrance salt mine half past five, then waiting for the bus to bring you back to a dark terrain in the cold. We were brought back by another bus which meant we also had to take everything from the bus into the mine Once they have your money they change everything, don't do it.

Such a nightmare - The agency showed an objective lack of transparency, organization and communication. First of all, once we paid 240€ in advance for 2 people, we had to ask them clarification about the pick up Point, as this information was different with the one selected during the booking. But this was actually nothing in respect to the experience itself. If you pay an agency in advance for a guided tour, you expect they have availability of tickets/reservations. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS IS NOT THE CASE, and this should be better clarified in the description of the tour. In our case, they accepted a huge number of reservations or that day, without having any access to tickets, which had actually to be purchased at the entrance of the museum (at least, they paid). So, what's the added value of having an intermediate agency if you need to queue anyway as a normal private visitor? Due to the high number of bookings, the agency was afraid not to find enough tickets at the entrance for all of us, and because of this, they texted us at 4.15 pm of the previous day, saying that the departure time would have been at 1.20 AM (!!!!). We arrived at the museum at 3 AM, and waited for FIVE HOURS in the middle of nowhere, standing still in a queue and outside with 3°C, till 8 am, when we managed to have the entrance tickets. How is it possible to pay 240€ for 2 people for such a service???? This is insane!!!! Of course, all this information was not clearly stated in the description of the tour (it just mentioned there could be the possibility of leaving earlier than 6AM...which is completely different than asking people not to sleep for the entire night, wait outside freezing for 5 hours and with no certainty of entering the museum the following morning!) . Please consider that we had booked not only a tour at the Auschwitz and Birkenau camps, but also at the sault mines in the afternoon, which required another 30mins of queuing again and then walking for a long time, but we did not have any energy and enthusiasm left after such a night ... IT'S IMPORTANT TO CLARIFY ALL THIS INFORMATION BEFORE ASKING FOR SO MUCH MONEY. PLEASE MODIFY THE DESCRIPTION OF THE TOUR AND BE MORE TRANSPARENT!

Do not go on this tour - Terrible experience! Collected at 1.30am. Left outside the museum in the cold at 3am for 5.5hrs standing in a queue with others from the bus because they could/would not buy tickets ahead of other tour organisers. No facilities or seats so had to sit on cold damp ground. When museum opened there was a melee and as we hadn’t prepurchased we had to watch others turn up and go in ahead of us. Organisers had no idea what times tours were available so we were waiting afterwards for those who had been given later tours. None of this is made clear prior to booking. Tour was meant to be 12hrs and at 13 hours were were back in Krakow and hadn’t done the salt mine yet. As two older folks it was impossible to continue as we were too tired. Guides seem to have heard all the complaints before but they still offer this. Tour is also not private. Certainly more than 30 in our group. Misrepresentation of the tour at best demanded and received some money back. Others in the tour paid €200 less for the exact same experience.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY - CLEARLY A SCAM - DISHONEST ADVERTISING AND ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! My daughter and I are currently sitting on a coach at 1:29am having been text with the absurd start time of 1:15am. When the text arrived at 5pm we immediately made contact with to company, assuming it was a typo. They did not answer their WhatsApp messages or calls, or their website phone number, or emails. As I understand it from other reviews (which we stupidly didn't read before booking) the company DOES NOT book tickets to Auschwitz in advance (which you can do by yourself, FREE, online) so we are being driven to Auschwitz to stand in a queue from 3am until whenever they open with no access to toilets or refreshments. I don't mind an early start but the booking details on Booking.com stated clearly 'skip the line' tickets and 6am start, so 1:15am is ridiculous. That's not an early start, it's an impossible time for people to have a successful and enjoyable excursion. So, like crazy people who have committed £250 between the two us, we sit on the over heated bus awaiting our fate. I have no doubt it will be an amazing but sobering experience and I am pleased to be going but I would recommend fellow travellers to get online early, book tickets directly with Auschwitz for free and take the train.
