This tour begins in Kralendijk, our capital. Due to the natural coral structure all around the island, Kralendijk is also known as “coral dike.” The highlights on the south of Bonaire is rich in history and beauty, with spectacular ocean views and historical architecture. As you explore and take in the sights, your local guide will give information on the region’s nature, economy, and landmarks. We will stop to take photos at the Salt flats, White or Yellow Slave Huts also the lighthouse. As you travel along and pass by the big salt hills that have been a part of Bonaire’s history since the 17th century on our way to the Sorobon Beach for a beach break. The entire island of Bonaire is a protected marine park, and Sorobon Beach is situated in the center of it. A bay hidden amongst mangrove trees will take your breath away. Water up to your knees runs as far as the eye can see. The seagrass pastures attract a variety of sea life, so don’t be shocked if a turtle passes by slowly.
