This activity takes place at Donkey beach, a rocky beach with some patches of sand. There is plenty of shade from the trees. This is where the locals hang out and celebrate birthdays with their families in the weekends.
From the beach you walk straight into the crystal clear waters that are teeming with all kinds of different fish and corals.
We will show you how local people use traditional fishing methods to catch fish.
Then it’s time to clean some fresh fish and fry them up on the grill.
Of course you’re welcome to help along!

Best Bonaire Experience - We had a great time on this tour. Franz and Marie offer a very personal tour and were very accomodating when we wanted to add more people last minute. The snorkeling was amazing and had a great variety of sea life especially being so close to shore. The guys went out further snorkeling to a drop off and spool fished with instructions from Franz. My husband, as a hobby fisherman, was ecstatic to catch fish a new way. Franz also brought more fresh caught fish to cook on the beach to feed us all. We had snapper and grouper, with the grouper being a group favorite. We would definitely recommend this tour option.

Relaxing - Franz was a great, personable host of a simple half-day outing that was truly relaxing. Snorkelling was good right off the shore of Donkey Beach and I even caught a grouper which Franz fried up on the beach. I could've stayed all day!

Super! - We did this excursion in March 2024 at the end of our holiday and loved it so much that we wanted to do it again this year right at the beginning of our holiday. With many good tips we could get started the next day with a good result. Definitely recommended!

Snorkel fishing - We had a great afternoon with Frans and Marie and their girls....we snorkeled out and caught a couple snappers that Frans fried up on the beach for us.....a great value for this excursion...can't get any fresher.....it was one of the highlights of our trip

Such a relaxing and fun new experience!!! - Personal attention, safe and a great family that is your guide. I had so much fun snorkeling and fishing! My husband stayed closer to the shore but still saw plenty of fish while snorkeling. Best overall excursion we have ever taken!

Awesome unique adventure - This was a unique experience and we enjoyed it. We snorkeled, learned how to fish without a traditional rod and then e ate the fish that were caught. The team was very personable and polite. I highly recommend this excursion.

Great time. - Great experience. I caught 3 fish and he caught the rest 😆. Friendly and made sure we ate fish first and then he ate. Very considerate. Cold waters and sodas were provided. He also waited for us with a sign and helped us with our luggage. Took us back to ship after the experience.

Do This - Wonderful Excursion Snorkel Fishing - We had a wonderful morning snorkel fishing with Hans. We caught grouper, snapper and creole fish. We walked into the sea and swam out a bit. It was a fantastic time learning something new. When we were done Hans set up a charcoal grill on the beach and cooked up our catch. Delicious. If I’m ever stranded on a deserted island I’m confident I will be able to eat. Thanks, Hans. Looking forward to next year.

Best time in Bonaire! - This was an amazing time! Our whole family loved every second of it. From the snorkeling to the fishing to just being able to enjoy a secluded (shaded) area. Frans was a great host! When we come back to bonaire we are definitely doing this again! Thanks for an amazing time!
