The mangrove forest at Lac Bay remains among the most remarkably preserved mangrove habitats in the Caribbean. Over centuries, this verdant territory has functioned as a sanctuary and nurturing ground for native fish, infant rays, lobster, and seahorses. The dense and stunning trees, along with their intricate, entangled roots shield Bonaire against severe climatic conditions. Some tales even suggest that they are robust enough to withstand the force of wind and water, slowing down a tsunami!
During your southern route to the Mangroves, the guide will discuss Bonaire’s historical facts and attractions. You’ll also have the opportunity to pose questions and discover more before reaching the splendid Lac Bay.
