• Krems an der Donau - Our delightful journey begins just an hour from Vienna in Krems-an-der-Donau. This medieval trading town was a key location at the crossroads of trade routes from East to West along the Danube, earning it the name Wachau Gate. This strategic position fostered the development of winemaking in the city dating back to Ancient Roman times.

We’ll visit a local wine producer whose family has owned vineyards since the 18th century. During our tour, we’ll explore wine cellars, uncover the secrets of Austrian wine production, and enjoy tasting three wine samples.

• Durnstein - From Krems, the village road leads us to Durnstein, the next stop along this scenic waterway. This small yet significant town is known for its rich abbey, still visible today, and a medieval fortress. Legend has it that Richard the Lionheart was once imprisoned here.
  We’ll stroll through the town’s narrow streets and take in the view of the fortress ruins perched on the hill above.
• Weissenkirchen in Der Wachau - Our journey continues to the observation deck in Weissenkirchen in der Wachau, offering one of the most breathtaking views of the terraced vineyards in the Wachau Valley.
  In this charming wine village, we’ll pause for lunch at a local restaurant (not included) and enjoy a wine tasting featuring two samples.
• Melk - Our final destination is the town of Melk.
  We’ll explore the courtyard and the main cathedral of Melk Abbey, renowned as Austria’s most beautiful Baroque abbey.
  Afterwards, we’ll wander through the town’s streets, descending from the hill where the abbey’s main building stands to the Danube River’s bank.
• Vienna - The return journey to Vienna will take approximately one hour.
