- Pilatus Luzern - From Lucerne’s train station, take bus no. 1 heading towards Kriens/Obernau. After an 11-minute bus ride to the “Kriens, Zentrum Pilatus” stop and a brief walk, you’ll arrive at the valley station in Kriens. The Panorama Gondolas will take you to the Fräkmüntegg middle station in 30 minutes, where you can try the rope park or the Dragon Glider (additional costs apply). Switch to the “Dragon Ride” aerial cableway for a 5-minute ride to the summit. At Pilatus Kulm, you can enjoy panoramic views of Lake Lucerne and the Swiss Alps, relax in the panoramic gallery, unwind on the terrace, climb one of the peaks, or savor a local specialty at one of the restaurants (additional costs apply). The world’s steepest cogwheel railway will take you back down to Alpnachstad in 35 minutes. From the valley station, board a boat cruise on Lake Lucerne, which will bring you back to Lucerne, near the train station, in 1-1.5 hours. You can also start the trip in the opposite direction, beginning with the boat ride from Lucerne. Be sure to check the timetable before your visit.

Do it again! - Great experience. The trip up and down the mountain was special. View from Mt Pilatus is unique and breathtaking. Boat ride on Lake Lucerne was very relaxing.

Love It - I was there for the 2nd time and this time with the family. We all love it. It gives you spectacular views of Lucerne.
We love hiking and all the rides.
Weather up there was better than down in Lucerne where it was just hot.

Lucerne beauty at its best! - A must do if in the Lucerne area. Took us a while to actually find the place where you catch the first gondola (would’ve appreciated a few signs) but people on the street were always helpful. A really cool experience up at the top (wear a jacket and good shoes). Cogwheel train coming down was a delight and the boat back into Lucerne a beautiful ride. Just do it and worry about the credit card cost later 😉

Wonderful experience - This was a great tour. Very majestic! The meeting point directions were a bit confusing, but if you use the map provided through the Pilatus website, it will help make sense of the meeting points for each mode of transportation. I’d recommend ending the tour with the boat ride because it was very relaxing and the views amazing.

Wonderful! - This trip was worth it! Wonderful time, beautiful place! The directions were clear so that we flowed along easily from one activity to the next and enjoyed the whole experience. Took us about 5 hours to be leisurely. I recommend going early as the afternoon lines looked long.

Great Half Day Trip - Excellent day trip. We enjoyed the cogwheel up the mountain then exploring the top at 2 different peaks. There were also a number of paragliders taking off from the top. The cable car & gondola down were also enjoyable.

Amazing - Great experiencing at the top of Mt Pilatus love that we were on our own schedule. Learning to take public transportation and ended the day in Lucerne for more site seeing.

Ticket times are NOT included. Be sure to double check how to reserve tram times. - We were not able to visit Mt Pilatus because the ticket times up the mountain were not reserved in advance. This package includes the tickets but DOES NOT register you for a time. Therefore, on a Saturday we were not able to take the train up. I recommend either starting in Kriens route (but pay attention to boat departure times on the back side) or figure out how to reserve the ticket times up the mountain in advance. The website to reserve ticket times required payment, very confusing. I can’t give a proper recommendation because we couldn’t make it to the top sadly. It was a beautiful day too!
