- Dikteon Cave - Lassithi Plateau (altitude 1150m). More than 10,000 traditional windmills operated in the area until a few decades ago. In the 1950s and 1960s, the Plateau was actually one of the first wind farms in Europe. The Diktaio Cave, that is, the birthplace of Zeus, is located in the village of Psychro (altitude 840m).
- Krasi - As we descend, we make a short stop in the village of Krasi and photograph the favorite plane of the famous Cretan writer Nikos Kazantzakis. The perimeter of the plane tree is about 24 meters and is estimated to be 2400 years old. It is also said that each measure of its perimeter corresponds to the age of 100 years.

Get to know Lasithi - We booked the tour to Hell of Zeus. At the hotel in Agios Nikolaos we were picked up by Georges. It speaks very good German. A very nice tour around the eastern part (Lasithi) of Crete to explore the plateaus and traditional villages. We were not convinced of the Zeus cave. The subsequent lunch with wine was very delicious. Many thanks to Georges for the great information and a safe tour.

Cave of Zeus by Safari Crete Experience - The tour was excellent, with spectacular sights and views and a delicious lunch included in the price. The driver, Mr Panos, was helpful and professional. Highly recommended.

Great tour by a phenomenal tour guide. - Really amazing tour, small group in a 4×4 made it feel personal. Panos was accommodating, friendly, personate and really knowledgeable about Crete's history, mythology and present day goings-on. It's clear that he cares about the local bussinesses and the fact that he takes really good photos is a plus.
The tour was great, Panos made it phenomenal. Thankyou to him.

Cave of Zeus - Went on holiday to Crete with family and wanted to experience a bit more of Cretes nature.
The Safari was a great choice to do that, Panos our driver/Safari tour guide was very informative and knew a lot about history and nature.
To get to Zeus of Cave it was a difficult climb especially in the heat but worth it once you get to the top with the gorgeous views. The cave was magnificent, so many stalactites and was actually bigger than I imagined and well lit.
Would definitely recommend going on this Safari tour if you like caves and Greek mythology.
Thank you Panos for making the tour an unforgettable experience.

The Legend that is Panos - Our guide Panos was great company and very knowledgeable giving us personal guided tours as we stopped at Kritsa plus mind blowing views from the plateaus. He filled us in on the Greek Mythology linked to places and is a great driver. The group was nice as small (4/6) in a good jeep and the trip bespoke - he even stopped to pick us fresh plums up in the mountains. The caves were stunning (good shoes or donkey) and the lunch at a local taverna was very enjoyable. Yammas! I would highly recommend this trip with Panos it was a real pleasure… eferisto :0)

I loved that trip and recommend it. It's really worthwhile !
Très beau circuit à travers les plateaux et petits villages traditionnels Kritsa et Krasi. Paysages sublimes et nature magnifique. Georges, passionné par la nature, est enthousiaste sur la faune et la flore. Très bon guide pour découvrir l'arrière pays. A recommander.

Typical Cretan excursion - Beautiful day excursion in the hinterland with visit to the Cave of Zeus, goat milking, beautiful views of the island and very good meal
