Culture & customs - a highlight of Battambang - We had an interesting half day tour with Phalla who was very generous with his knowledge as we learnt about local life around Battambang. We booked in person at their shop and Kanha was helpful to advise a half day tour, we appreciated this recommendation given the June heat we are currently experiencing! We wanted to ride a little further to explore some of the surrounding landscape and they helpfully adjusted the route. We had the right balance of learning about the local economy through various sellers and spending time with a practising monk. Refreshment stops were taken in local places away from the tourist trail and it gave us chance to explore off the beaten path. A highlight of our trip to Battambang which we will reflect upon in the future. Many thanks, Ryan & Ali

Brilliant tour cycling in the Battambang countryside - Our tour with Saram was brilliant! We spent 4ish hours cycling in the Battambang countryside and visited a few families to see how they made things like rice paper and bamboo rice. Saram was a great guide, and was able to explain about local customs and culture in great detail (and answer our many questions)! We’d strongly recommend this tour for a half day in Battambang.

Only one thing better that train travel… - Rolling around Battambang back streets, discovering water jar and fish net craftsmanship and chatting frankly with a devoted Monk were some of the highlights of our lay back journey. We live in Phnom Penh so it was such a delight to enjoy Brilliant Battambong. Best bit was sipping sticky Khmere coffee from a local Barista in a Cham village and hearing our tour leaders insights into local life. Great for any age!!

The best way to get closer to the people and culture - We went on the half-day customs and culture bike tour with our wonderful guide, Mony. We had so many experiences and opportunities that could not have happened on our own. First of all, the bikes were terrific and felt completely safe. Mony led us perfectly so it was an easy and fun ride. Second, he shared so much about current and historical Cambodian life in an engaging and fascinating way. We had the chance to enter villages and connect with people, using Mony's sensitive guidance on language and customs. We had an incredible conversation (translated by Mony) with a woman who has spent her whole life in the village. We were interested in her and she enjoyed hearing about the cold weather in Chicago. We learned about and tasted new local foods and saw the countryside in an up-close way. There is just nothing like being on a bike, being in a village, and being guided and having translation to allow meaningful conversation. This is a lot more than a bike ride! Soksabike puts heart into their tours and cares deeply about connections with people and communities. Don't skip this!!! It's worth every sweaty minute!

A definite highlight of our holiday! - We did the half day Customs and Culture bike tour with our wonderful guide Mony. My partner is not an experienced cyclist so was a bit nervous about cycling on Cambodian roads but she needn't have worried as Mony was very attentive and made sure we were safe. We were provided with good bikes, helmets and water. It was wonderful to experience the countryside by bike. Mony was a very warm, friendly and knowledgeable guide with very good English, providing interesting information about Cambodia's history, politics, religion and culture. We stopped at a few places in Battambang before cycling into the nearby countryside. We visited families to learn about their different trades; water jar production, fishing net repairing, fish selling. Mony was very respectful and the families were all compensated for their time. We were taken to visit a Muslim community. It was interesting to learn about how different cultures and religions are accepted and embraced in Cambodia. Our final stop before lunch was a visit with a monk. We were told it was a no holds barred opportunity to ask a monk anything we wished. Our monk was very friendly and open and we certainly came away enlightened 😁 We would thoroughly recommend this tour. Our guide Mony was excellent and this tour was one of the highlights of our trip.

Brilliant, interesting and enjoyable - Highly recommended! We did the customs and culture half day tour, particularly so we could spend some time with a monk at the end of the tour. Money, our guide, was ideal. His knowledge, warmth, sheet enjoyment in sharing the culture and history of his country with us, was inspiring. The tour was totally fine as a cape who don't really exercise. An easy and enjoyable ride. The grilled bananas and family preparing them were delicious! And the half hour spent chatting with the monk left a lasting impression of peace and calm. Money, thank you. We know your future is bright and loved being part of such a positive social tour company.

Excellent way to explore Battambang - We went out with Soksabike this morning. We visited small home-based traditional makers of rice paper, dried banana, rice wine and sticky rice in bamboo. We also went to the fish market and Wat Samrong Knong, an ancient not temple turned into a detention, torture and execution centre by the Khmer Rouge. Our guide Mony was very knowledgeable, informative and friendly. We stopped for some delicious fresh fruit on the way. This tour was the highlight of our time in Battambang and is really worth doing.
