The Best Excursion of Our Trip: Battambang Day Tour - Our one-day excursion to Battambang was the grand finale of our holiday in Cambodia, and it turned out to be the absolute best. Despite the long drive from Siem Reap (2.5-3 hours each way), this tour was so well-designed and enriching that every minute felt worth it. It’s a must-do if you’re looking for a meaningful and unforgettable experience outside of Siem Reap. Our journey started with Tree (or Tri), our driver, who made the long drive so comfortable and relaxing. His safe and focused driving allowed us to rest and even sleep peacefully on the way there and back, which gave us the energy to fully enjoy the day. Once in Battambang, our experience shifted into high gear with Kim, our exceptional guide and tuk-tuk driver. Kim was truly the star of the day. He not only followed the itinerary perfectly but also accommodated every additional stop we requested. From visiting a tobacco shop where we learned how to roll tobacco from a grandmother, to exploring a fresh market to try local street food, and even tasting barbecued rat, Kim went above and beyond to ensure we experienced the true essence of Battambang. Kim’s storytelling and humor brought history and culture to life. His ability to make everything relatable and engaging was remarkable. He didn’t just show us the sights; he helped us connect with the people, stories, and spirit of the city. The tour itself was brilliantly structured. Battambang’s unique architecture and rich history captivated us, while the bamboo train ride was a fun, memorable experience that also supported rural families selling souvenirs. Lunch, prepared by a local family, was simple yet delicious. The Banaan Temple was absolutely stunning (though the stairs are not for the faint-hearted!). The day culminated with a visit to the boyddhist temple, the Killing Cave and Bat Cave, which left a profound impact on us. Witnessing the Khmer people’s resilience and ability to turn tragedy into meaning was incredibly moving. Watching thousands of bats emerge from the cave at sunset was one of the most magnificent sights we’ve ever seen—truly unforgettable. If you only have time for one tour outside Siem Reap, this is the one to choose. Battambang’s beauty, culture, and people will leave a lasting impression. On our next trip to Cambodia, we plan to stay a few days in Battambang and will absolutely request Kim as our guide again. This experience was perfect in every way. Highly, highly recommended!

Spectacular - We had a wonderful tour in Battambang. We learned a lot about the history of the country and had some great experiences. Our guide Kim was great, very friendly and knowledgeable, his English was really good and his insider knowledge of where to get local food was awesome! We were very humbled by the killing caves and very inspired by the temples.

The best day in Battanbang with Mr Kim - You begin by being picked up from your hotel in an air conditioned car with a driver. The driver then took us from Siem Riep to Battanbang, where we met our tour guide Mr Kim. Mr Kim's English was perfect. He was funny, charming and knowledgeable. He took us to all places on the interary plus extra. One of our favourite parts of the tour was driving through the country side and Mr Kim explaining what the farmers were doing. We pulled over in the tuktuk to buy fruit from the local people and they prepared it for us ready to eat. Mr Kim took lots of photographs for us throughout the day, which will be our favourite photos from our holiday. He offered us photographs without us having to ask, in the most beautiful locations. At the end of the day, we saw the most beautiful sunset above the Bat Cave. We would reccomend this tour to everybody and specifically Mr Kim, it was so enjoyable to spend the day with him and he taught us so much about Cambodian history. We will never forget our day on this trip. Love, Aimee & Joe from England x

I strongly recognise and recommend Mr Lucky. His hp #855 70 577 549 - Responsible, reliable, trustworthy and caring tour guide cum driver. We had a day trip to Battambang from Siem Reap with Mr Lucky as our tour guide cum driver. Mr Lucky was so helpful and friendly. He helped us up and down the steep steps. He helped us took a lot scenic photos. When I told him my worry about next morning transportation to Vet Air bus terminal, as I had tried many times using my hp to call Vet Air bus company but with no response, so he used his personal hand phone to call the company and made arrangement for the company bus to pick us up at our hotel lobby. I strongly recognise and recommend Mr Lucky as 👍👍👍tour guide cum driver. His hp #855 70 577 549 In future if we have a chance to visit Siem Reap again I will definitely call him to bring us around. Thanks Mr Lucky for letting us have an enjoyable and unforgettable trip.

Battambang day out - A brilliant day out. A well timed pick up from our hotel in Siem Reap, and a safe drive whilst we slept. A fabulous tour where David modified what we did to what we wanted - he was absolutely brilliant. Finally another safe drive back to Siem Reap. A long day out but had an absolutely amazing time. Would fully recommend

Battambang day trip - My friend and I had the best day exploring Battambang. We were picked up from our hotel in CMR and driven in a lovely jeep to the city. When we arrived, we were picked up by our guide David. David was brilliant. He has great English and he’s super enthusiastic. He showed us lovely parts of the city but focused the time on the countryside. We got to meet locals, see the harvest happen, write a bamboo train, taste local food straight from the people making it. he answered all questions and gave us really good accounts of the stories and the history of the area. Would definitely recommend him and his tour to anyone.

A must! - A private driver picks you up at your hotel and subject to where you're staying, it is approximately an 2½ - 3 hour journey from Siem Reap. Upon arrival, you are greeted by a local tour guide where your tour of transportation is using a Tuk Tuk vehicle. Due to unforeseen circumstances of my own, I was unable to complete the whole tour as planned but thoroughly enjoyed the activities I was able to participate in. The guide did an impromptu stop at the local food market which was fascinating; dog meat and bird sh!T chilli for sale! Riding on the bamboo train was fun but it broke down twice; lol but I was able to complete the journey. Just be prepared for a local shopping point during the train break by a local family! The tour guide was VERY knowledgeable and courteous.

Great day at Battambang - Great day, Ghia drove us from Riem Seap to Battambang then we transferred to a TukTuk with Kim as our driver/guide. Kim had a great knowledge of the history of the area and was very happy to make our visit a day to remember. A lot of fun on the bamboo train and a sobering time at the killing cave & frog cave. Well worth the trip, would recommend to anyone.
