Complete tour in Battambang and best English guide! - This is the most complete one-day tour in Battambang, as it covers all the most iconic and interesting sites in the area. We started with a visit to Wat Ek Phnon temple, which is older than Angkor Wat (though sadly in ruins due to the civil war), featuring a giant Buddha and a pagoda. Then, we rode the original bamboo train. Currently, there are two versions, a new one and the old one; this is the old one operated by local workers. I recommend this one for its history, for providing jobs to locals, and for being a more authentic experience. We continued to Phnom Banan temple, where climbing all the stairs was quite a challenge, but worth the effort as the temple is well-preserved. We also visited the infamous Killing Cave, where the story shared by David deeply moved us. Additionally, we enjoyed the natural spectacle of the bats. Along the way, we made several brief surprise stops. No commercial stops. David, our guide, was simply the best. His English was excellent, and he was always very friendly and attentive. He provided us with a wealth of interesting facts about each place we visited, making us feel like we were traveling with a friend. We are interested in Cambodian cuisine and ask him and had the opportunity to discover gastronomy with him, including balut, freshly harvested peanuts, rice cakes, and the best rice sticks in Cambodia. Sam, the driver, was also very considerate. He drove carefully, made stops when needed without making us feel rushed, and was always attentive to our needs. We highly recommend this tour as it is the most comprehensive we've found and the guide is excellent!
