Highlights
  • Bamboo Train Battambang - Take a ride on the traditional Bamboo Train, a bamboo platform laid over 2 sets of wheels on a single track. In the old days this was used to transport goods between Battambang and Phnom Penh and was a typical mode of transport for farmers and villagers. Today, it takes you through the beautiful countryside to a little village you can explore on foot before returning to your starting point.
  • Wat Banan Temple - Climb the 365 stairs to marvel at Wat Banan, an Angkor era temple which sits on top of a hill close to the Sanker river. Banan is seldom frequented by tourists and outside of Cambodian holidays it is likely that you may be the only visitor.
  • Phnom Sampeau - Scale the side of a mountain leading to the ‘secret bat cave’ just before sunset where you will sit atop the mountain waiting for the millions of bats located inside the cave to awake. Marvel as this seemingly never-ending stream of fruit bats fly out of the cave and off into the countryside for their evening meal.
  • Battambang Bat Caves - The Bat Cave shows an amazing spectacle at around 5 pm each day - thousands of bats leave their cave as dusk falls, beginning their nocturnal hunting. A black streak stretched among the sky, vibrating with sound waves, before dispersing on the horizon illuminated by starlight. A steady stream flying out for around 45 minutes then back to their caves.

A Perfect Guide to See Battambang - Han was a phenomenal Guide for our holiday, he didn't just take us to tourist places but he made us discover the local culture taking us to families to see how various products were made. Always very kind and helpful also offered us The tasting of various foods always with great attention and friendliness. He told us the story of his country and its history which struck us deeply and left us speechless. A very attentive and professional person but also friendly and friendly. Our trip to Battambang would not have been so good without his Guide. Absolutely recommended!

Battambang was amazing!!! 😍 - Wow this tour is a must. It's very in depth but you're going to see a lot and experience a lot. I learned so much about Cambodian culture and a lot about the unfortunate events of the Khmer rouge. Mr. Hanoon was an amazing tour guide. Plus he's a survivor! I'm really thankful for his guidance throughout our tour. This was a crazy experience. I loved how much we got out of just one day. We seriously did so much in a single day. This was my favorite tour hands down. Also thanks for our driver, Nol! You both made such an unforgettable experience. :)

Fantastic day in Battambang with Mr. Han - Wanted to tour the sites of Battambang but weren’t able to squeeze an overnight sojourn into our itinerary so this was an excellent option for an action packed. The tour began early with the driver picking us up from our hotel in Siem Reap. The driver was courteous and professional, and his car was clean and comfortable. We picked up Mr. Han in Battambang and began our tour with visiting some local attractions, including various food markets. We had the opportunity to see how rice paper was made, including sampling the finished product in the form of both fresh and fried spring rolls. We also saw how bamboo sticky rice was made, and had the opportunity to sample that as well. The tour included stops at numerous Buddhist temples and points of historical significance from the time of the ghastly Khmer Rouge regime. Mr. Han’s personal experience during that time made his perspective, highly compelling and sobering. We had a fun ride on a bamboo train and met some locals and kids. We also had a great time observing monkeys and literally millions of bats on their nightly exodus from an area cave. Everything was included on the tour with the exception of lunch at a food stall near one of the temples, which was both reasonably priced and delicious. Also not included was additional refreshments you may want (e.g. beer soda, ice cream). This was probably my favorite day of our trip thus far while the sites were interesting and fun, the differentiating factor was Mr. Hans’s white glove service and wonderful attitude and sense of humor. Thanks a million for a fantastic day!

Absolutely incredible day spent with Mr. Han in Battambang!!!! - What an incredible day we spent with Mr. Han!!! We thought we would be just doing the 3 activities listed but it truly was so much more. Mr. Han met us in Battambang and took us to experience so much of his hometown. We stopped along the way to our destinations for him to point out interesting food and how it’s being made, explained landmarks, and showed us trees filled with bats. The bamboo train was an absolute thrill, the temple tour/killing cave was so insightful, and the bars flying out at sunset was incredible. He really took such good care of us, always making sure we were well fed and hydrated. He was a kind and thoughtful man, with a GREAT sense of humor!! He also had so much to share about his family’s personal experience during the time of the Khmer Rouge, which was so interesting and I’m grateful to have been educated so deeply on the subject. I can’t recommend this tour enough!!

Very good - I found the place incredible, for all its history and especially the part of the presence of the Khmer Rouge and Vietnamese in the place. I highlight that Mr. Han was an excellent guide who allowed me to understand everything quickly
