After a briefing, the tour will explore Battambang’s French colonial architecture, including the Ta Dambong Kra Aung monument, a symbol of the city. The next destination will be the original bamboo train.
- Suspension Bridge - Before boarding the bamboo train, the tour will pass through charming villages and countryside, visiting fruit farms and local pagodas along the riverbank. The friendly farmers and cheerful children will greet visitors with smiles and waves. The operator will pause in the village to explain the local lifestyle. The tour will then visit a suspension bridge near Kampong Pil Pagoda, offering opportunities for stunning river view photographs. The journey will continue to the Bamboo Train.
- Bamboo Train Battambang - Guests will experience the original bamboo train. This might be the last opportunity to ride the original bamboo train at Osrolao village, as it is set to close soon. The ride costs $5 per person and provides views of quaint villages and the countryside.
- Phnom Sampeau - Known as Phnom Sampov, this mountain features the infamous killing cave and bat cave. Visitors can see the cave where victims were executed during the Pol Pot regime and pushed into the cave. After exploring the cave, guests can climb the mountain to enjoy a breathtaking view and a Buddhist pagoda.
Note: There are many monkeys in the area, and it is advised to keep a safe distance as some can be aggressive. Visitors have several options to ascend the mountain, including walking, or taking a motorcycle or pick-up truck.
- Battambang Bat Caves - In this cave, visitors will witness numerous bats flying around. The cave resembles a long dragon, housing millions of bats. It takes 30 to 40 minutes for all the bats to exit the cave.
This marks the final stop of the tour. After visiting the bat cave, the operator will drive guests back to their hotel.
