Kampong Phluk Floating Village - Kampong Phlouk is a fantastic spot for tourists to explore the submerged Mangrove trees and forests. Artisans Angkor - Artisans Angkor is a Cambodian social enterprise that creates job opportunities for young people in rural areas while reviving traditional Khmer craftsmanship (stone and wood carving, painting on statues, lacquering, and silver plating). Founded in 1992, the organization is located in the City Center, just a 2-minute walk from the Old Market in Siem Reap, Cambodia. You can visit their showrooms and craft rooms.

Kampong Phluk - The community primarily relies on fishing for survival, especially shrimp, during Cambodia’s wet season. Many houses and buildings are built on stilts ranging from 6 to 9 meters to accommodate the changing water levels between wet and dry seasons. During the dry season (November-April), as the river recedes, many turn to farming to supplement their income. Tourism, which began in the village about 10 years ago, is also a growing part of the local economy.

Full Day Angkor Wat with Sunrise

Angkor Wat - Angkor Wat is the largest religious monument in the world, built in the early 12th century. As the best-preserved temple at the site, it has remained a significant religious center since its foundation. We will enter the grand temple in darkness from the lesser-visited eastern side. Our journey continues on foot through a jungle path to the north ancient library pool, where we will wait for the sunrise. Listen to your expert guide’s explanations, then spend time exploring the central chambers of the temple. Your local guide will reveal the history, myths, and stories depicted on the stone bas-reliefs (the longest stretch of bas-relief carvings in the world). Angkor Thom South Gate - The South Gate is one of the five gates of Angkor Thom (the ancient capital city of the Khmer Empire). The gate, flanked by a row of 54 stone figures on each side, was the entrance to the fortified city of Angkor Thom. At its peak, Angkor Thom had a population of over one million people and was larger than the city of London. It is one of the most popular tourist spots in the Angkor Wat area.

Bayon Temple - The Bayon is a richly decorated Khmer temple at Angkor in Cambodia. Built in the early 13th century as the state temple of King Jayavarman VII, the Bayon stands at the center of Jayavarman’s capital. The Bayon’s most distinctive feature is the multitude of serene and smiling stone faces on the many towers that jut out from the upper terrace and cluster around its central peak. You’ll see its beautifully crafted central towers, covered in more than 200 enormous faces. The temple has two sets of bas-reliefs, presenting a combination of mythological, historical, and everyday scenes. The outer wall of the outer gallery features a series of bas-reliefs depicting historical events and scenes from the daily life of the Angkorian Khmer. The inner gallery bas-reliefs depict mythological events.

Baphuon Temple - Baphuon is located in Angkor Thom, northwest of the Bayon. Built in the mid-11th century, it is a three-tiered temple mountain constructed as the state temple. The temple adjoins the southern enclosure of the Royal Palace and measures 120 meters east-west by 100 meters north-south at its base, standing 34 meters tall without its tower, which would have made it roughly 50 meters tall. Its appearance apparently impressed Temür Khan’s late 13th-century envoy Chou Ta-kuan during his visit from 1296 to 1297, who said Bayon was the Tower of Gold and Baphuon was ‘the Tower of Bronze…a truly astonishing spectacle, with more than ten chambers at its base.

Phimeanakas - Phimeanakas (celestial temple) or Vimeanakas was built at the end of the 10th century during the reign of Rajendravarman (from 941-968), then completed by Suryavarman I in the shape of a three-tier pyramid as a Hindu temple. On top of the pyramid, there was a tower, while on the edge of the top platform there are galleries. Phimeanakas is located inside the walled enclosure of the Royal Palace of Angkor Thom.

Terrace of the Elephants - The 350m-long Terrace of Elephants was used as a giant reviewing stand for public ceremonies and served as a base for the king’s grand audience. Some local Khmer residents call it “the Ancient Khmer Stadium”. It was built in the early 13th century under King Jayavarman VII.

Terrace of the Leper King - The famous Terrace of the Leper King is a U-shaped structure thought by some to have been used as a royal cremation site. It was built in the early 13th century under King Jayavarman VII, though its modern name derives from a 15th-century sculpture discovered at the site. The statue depicts the Hindu god Yama, the god of death.

Ta Prohm Temple - The jungle-enveloped Ta Prohm (Tomb Raider temple) is one of the most atmospheric of all temples in Angkor. Ta Prohm was built in the 13th century. Unlike most Angkorian temples, Ta Prohm remains in much the same condition as it was found. The photogenic and atmospheric combination of trees growing out of the ruins and the jungle surroundings have made it one of Angkor’s most popular temples with visitors. UNESCO inscribed Ta Prohm on the World Heritage List in 1992. Today, it is one of the most visited complexes in Cambodia’s Angkor region. Ta Prohm was a religious temple located in the center of the Ancient Khmer University during the 12th and 13th centuries.

Visit the countryside and Kampong Phluk fishing village. On the second day, starting before dawn watch the Sun Rise at Angkor Wat and explore the awesome temples of Angkor.

Day1 – Start your day with a pickup from your hotel and take a short drive to watch the Sun Rise in Angkor Wat. Your guide will share with you all the history and culture. Then you’ll venture deep into the central chambers and up to the upper terraces of this truly great temple. After breakfast, you’ll wander the jungle-enveloped Ta Prohm temple, and visit the Angkor Thom, and Bayon temples including the Terrace of Elephant and the Terrace of Leper King. Next up, visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom.

Day2 -Visit the Kampong Phluk Village, the Country Market. Then, take a short boat ride through the fishing Village and Mangrove Trees to a beautiful Tonle Sap Lake. On the way back, you’ll walk through the village to see the everyday life of the villagers. This tour will let you avoid the crowds and escape the heat.
