Angkor National Museum - In the afternoon, we will start our tour with a visit to the Angkor National Museum, an archaeological museum dedicated to the collection, preservation, and presentation of Angkorian artifacts. The collections mainly date from the Khmer Empire’s Angkor period, circa the 9th to 14th centuries, with most artifacts discovered in and around the nearby Angkor archaeological sites.
Lunch & Dinner on your own.

Phnom Kulen National Park - Enjoy breakfast at your hotel.
Then explore the mountains, waterfalls, and remote temples of Phnom Kulen and the Roluos Group of temples. Pick up at 8:00 am in your hotel lobby for a 2-hour journey through rural Cambodia to our first destination. Considered by Khmers as the most sacred mountain in Cambodia, it is a place of pilgrimage. Main stops at Phnom Kulen include admiring the panoramic vistas from the massive reclining Buddha, the biggest of its kind in Cambodia, the “River of a Thousand Lingas” carving of sacred lingas on the river banks, and the waterfalls of Phnom Kulen. We will stop to take a dip in the cool waters and visit the nearby temple ruins.
Lunch on your own.
Bakong - Then your tour guide will take you back to ancient times before the Angkorian period, where you will visit the first Angkorian capital of the Roluos group with three temples: Bakong, Lolei, and Preah Ko. Located 11 kilometers southeast of the Siem Reap Market, these temples are close together and extend over an area of three kilometers (1.9 miles) east of the Great Lake. The Roluos group, dating from the late ninth century, is the earliest site of the 600-year Angkor Period that is open to visitors. The three temples in this important group share similar characteristics in architecture, decoration, materials, and construction methods, which together reveal the beginning of the Classic Period of Khmer art.

Phnom Kulen National Park - Breakfast at the hotel.
Then continue with a half-day exploration of two highlight temples, Banteay Samre and Banteay Srei. Banteay Samre, built under Suryavarman II and Yasovarman II in the early 12th century, is a Hindu temple in the Angkor Wat style. We will follow Banteay Samre with Banteay Srei, one of Angkor’s most beautiful temples. Built largely of red sandstone, this gem of a temple boasts a pink color and some of the most exquisite depictions.

Preah Khan - This morning, after breakfast, we will take an excursion to visit Preah Khan temple, built by King Jayavarman VII. Preah Khan, like Ta Prohm, is a place of towered enclosures and shoulder-hugging corridors. Unlike Ta Prohm, however, Preah Khan is in a reasonable state of preservation, and ongoing restoration efforts should maintain and even improve this situation. Then visit Neak Pean, a fountain built in the middle of a pool and representing the paradisiacal Himalayan mountain-lake. Followed by Ta Som, Mebon temple, and the last stop at Pre Rup Temple from the late 10th century, built by Khmer king Rajendravarman II, revered for the boldness of its architectural design.
Lunch on your own at a local restaurant.
Angkor Thom South Gate - In the afternoon, visit the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk and see the ancient capital of Angkor Thom, built in the late 12th century, before we head onwards to Bayon temple, which is unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara. Baphuon is like an artificial mountain that recently re-opened after years of restoration. Following this, you may visit the Royal Enclosure, the Elephants Terrace, and the Terrace of the Leper King.
