Highlights
  • Angkor Wat - We will come and pick you up early in the morning at 4:30 am . We will then take the short journey out to Angkor Wat and watch the sun rise over the majestic temple. After the sunrise, we will explore Angkor Wat temple and I will explain the history and architecture to you.
  • Ta Prohm Temple - After Angkor Wat, we’ll head over to Ta Prohm. This temple was built in the Bayon style in the late 12th and early 13th century. Ta Prohm was originally built as a Buddhist monastery and university. One of the unique features of Ta Prohm is that it has largely been left to the jungle and the trees are literally growing right through the middle of the temple. Ta Prohm is one of the most popular temples in Siem Reap as it was used as the location for the Tomb Raider movie featuring Angelina Jolie.
  • Banteay Kdei - We will then head over to Prasat Banteay Kdei which means “A Citadel of Chambers” in English. This Buddhist temple was again built in the late 12th and early 13th century by King Jayavarman VII. This temple is always quiet because it is not the famous temple, very pleasant to walk through it after visiting 2 famous temples before returning back to hotel for refreshing.
  • Angkor Thom - In the afternoon, we will visit Angkor Thom, the ancient capital city of the Khmer Empire. Here, we can see many impressive sights, including the Royal Palace, the Terrace of the Elephants, the Terrace of the Leper King, and the magnificent Bayon temple.

Finally, we’ll head over to the South Gate of Angkor Thom to watch and take photos of the sunset over the moat (a man-made lake) from a bridge flanked by two rows of 54 giant sandstone statues. Alternatively, we can visit Phnom Bakheng hill for a sunset view before taking you safely back to your hotel.

Highly recommended tour company - We had a really excellent sunrise & sunset tour with Bunpheng. He was ready and waiting for us on time with a great driver in a very comfortable car. For sunrise, Bunpheng took us to a good spot away from the crowds, which was lovely. Bunpheng is very experienced and knowledgable, and was engaging and informative in explaining things and answering our questions. He was also an excellent photographer and took lots of great photos for us! He tailored the plan based on our preferences and weather on the day, and made sure we made the most of our time there. I did lots of research before picking this tour, and I'm very happy I went with Angkor Doors. The setup of having a break in the middle of the day works really well and lets you make the most of seeing the sunrise, exploring temples and seeing the sunset in 1 day, while also getting out of the heat and enjoying your hotel.

Professional and thoughtful guide - The temples are amazing and this tour was a great way to experience them. Our guide Sophat took very good care of us - he was professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable. We were driven in a nice clean SUV and we were always offered cold water and cold wet towels at every break in the tour. Overall, we felt like we experienced these amazing temples in the care of a professional and thoughtful guide.

Best way to see the top sites! - Highly recommend this tour! My mom and I had a private tour with knowledgeable and hilarious guide Bunpheng. Bunpheng not only knew the history behind each site, but his years of experience also allowed us to see places in a different order from other groups to avoid crowds. Since we went at the hottest time of year (heat index of 118F the day we went), it was ideal to start before sunrise, have a few hours to nap and swim midday, and then finish with the sunset. Bunpheng and our driver had plenty of cold water and towels, as well as some neck fans to wear as we walked around the temples (huge help in combating the heat). Having a break in the air conditioning between temples made a huge difference as well. Don’t hesitate to book this tour!

Excellent - Fantastic tour, guide and driver. Have a lot of info, but not an overwhelming amount and was very amenable to sone changes to the itinerary as a previous traveler let us know that this would have been an overwhelming amount of temples. Loved it. (They made sure we were the first in, in the morning).

Awesome experience with an experienced and knowledgeable guide - It was an absolutely marvellous experience with the right break-up of points of interest to see. Felt privileged to get a very knowledgeable guide who started life as a monk! Very well versed with Hindu and Buddhist scriptures and related all the wall carvings to names and instances in the holy scriptures. Amazed at the immense depth of knowledge on history by our guide, which made our whole experience meaningful and memorable.

Exceptional tour with friendly, knowledgable guide - This was an absolutely amazing tour! It covered everything you could want - and certainly all the highlights - in one day. We began before sunrise to get a good spot to watch the beautiful sunrise over Angkor Wat, before exploring inside and then two more temples. We then took a break and resumed in the afternoon. My guide had good English a wealth of knowledge about the sites and their history. He also knew the best routes and shortcuts to avoid the worst of the crowds. I highly recommend this tour.

Sunrise and sunset tour perfect from start to finish! - Bunpheng Chan was our private tour guide for exploring Angkor Wat and other temples during our perfect day in Siem Reap! He communicated wonderfully with us prior to our tour pickup so we were prepared, during our tour providing lots of education, and after our tour answering any of my follow-up questions and sharing additional photos he had taken. It was wonderful having such a knowledgeable guide with us as we explored the many historic temples and he planned our day out perfectly! Sunrise at Ankgor Wat was ideal and Bunpheng took us to parts of the complex where we were away from the crowds and able to get great pictures to remember it all. There are so many temples in Siem Reap and our tour was perfect for seeing multiple highlights of them. This part of the world can be very hot, so having the mid-day break back at our hotel where we had our lunch, siesta, and a massage was ideal before Bumpheng picked us back up promptly at 3 PM to see additional amazing sites concluding with a lovely sunset overlooking the water at Angkor Thom. This was truly a perfect day in Siem Reap from start to finish; thank you again!

There is no better guide than Bunpheng Chan - I booked a 3 day trip with Angkor Doors and the wonderful Bunpheng Chan for a family of four (kids 10/12): Day 1: Angkor Wat sunrise and Ta Phrom: Day 2: Kulen Elephant Forest and Tonle Sap floating village; Day 3: Angkor Thom (Bayon/elephant terrace) and Preah Khan. I genuinely believe it’s impossible to find a better guide than. Bunpheng Chan. From the second I sent an enquiry email to the moment we finished our tour he was simply amazing. Efficient, prompt, friendly, genuine, good fun, extremely knowledgeable. Most of all how he interacted with the children, kept them engaged throughout temple tours, made everything fun for them with his stories, quizzes, massages, door counting… he really was the best we could have ever imagined. If I could recommend one thing about a trip to Siem Reap it would be to pick Bunpheng Chan as your tour guide!
