Possibly The Best Tour of Angkor Temples - Probably one of the best tours we have ever had in all our travels. Highly personal, really informative and well paced. We visited 6 temples, each very different. We learnt so much about the history, culture, religion and so much more about Cambodia and the Khmer empire. Bunpheng also had a wonderful sense of humour. We cannot recommend him and the tour more highly. Angkor Doors is actually a great name - it's your doorway to many great experiences. We initially thought tours was a seasonal side hustle of a business that made and installed house doors and windows...

Get a to go breakfast from your hotel. - We enjoyed our same guide (Chansarak) and driver (Dara) for this tour as we did for our other two tours while in Siem Reap and I can't say enough about how wonderful they were. Sunset was a bit crazy since it was a holiday and extremely crowded. The Sunrise was beautiful, my only complaint was there were a couple of drones being flown which spoiled the photos and the tranquility of the moment, which was no fault of Tripadvisor.

Wonderful tour by Sophal - This wqs wonderful tour that exceeded all ourr expectations. Our very experienced tour guide Sophal gave us a veylry historic tour guide and took us to the bwst spot to watch the sunrise and sunset away from the crowd. He had a solid cross cultural, spiritual and historical knowledge, and pointedly let us through all the carvings, it's history and the stories around all of them including those from the Ramayana. The team was also considerate of rest periods and served us cold water and towels from time to time. Do ask for Sophal who certainly will be our guide if/when we come again.

An unforgettable full day. - It was completely amazing to see Angkor Wat at sunrise. My tour guide Pheng knew of a fantastic spot to see a full view of the temple at dawn. Further, he was chatty and knowledgable about many aspects of the temple. He was able to tell the story of Cambodia's ancient history and further able to answer all the questions I had. He showed me many different temples and took some great photos of me too. If you want a fantastic tour, he is the one to guide you.

Highly recommended tour company - We had a really excellent sunrise & sunset tour with Bunpheng. He was ready and waiting for us on time with a great driver in a very comfortable car. For sunrise, Bunpheng took us to a good spot away from the crowds, which was lovely. Bunpheng is very experienced and knowledgable, and was engaging and informative in explaining things and answering our questions. He was also an excellent photographer and took lots of great photos for us! He tailored the plan based on our preferences and weather on the day, and made sure we made the most of our time there. I did lots of research before picking this tour, and I'm very happy I went with Angkor Doors. The setup of having a break in the middle of the day works really well and lets you make the most of seeing the sunrise, exploring temples and seeing the sunset in 1 day, while also getting out of the heat and enjoying your hotel.

Sunrise and Sunset private tour - I thought reviews were meant to help fellow travellers but in Cambodia, it seems reviews are necessary for the very survival of tour guides! I decided to review all the 4 tours I took in Cambodia, but I hope tour companies realize that it's not possible that every tourist reviews all the tours, and don't make it almost mandatory for guides to get positive reviews. It's simply not sustainable and not fair to the guides or the tourists. That said, this was my first tour in Siem reap and was the most well-organized. The tour company contacted me over Whatsapp well in advance and confirmed the pick up time and location. They also told me I had to buy the pass to visit Angkor Wat on my own so I was fully prepared with everything and it was quite stress-free. The guide, Sophal, was on time and he explained the history and told the stories very well . I felt a bit light headed in the morning and had to sit down quite a few times. He was very patient with me. After Angkor Wat and a couple of other temples, we go back to the hotel and get picked up again at around 2.30/3.00pm for the sunset tour. The sunset tour was really enjoyable - again, I visited quite a few temples and they were much less crowded than the ones I visited in the morning. If it's just for the guide and the way the tour was managed, I'd definitely give it 5 stars but I believe the rating is for the whole experience. I have removed one star only because it was VERY crowded during the sunrise tour and there was quite bit of litter around. I do realize I'm also a tourist and hence part of the 'crowd', but it does affect the experience. There were so many people walking around with their phone-torches and talking loudly which was quite distracting and ruined the otherwise serene night. I hope the people here realize sooner than later how big of a put off litter can be (it is, at least for me), and reduce the use of plastic water bottles, one time use wet towels etc., before it's too late. And for the amount they charge for the entry (37 USD for 1 day), I think they should do a better job of keeping the place litter-free. I definitely recommend the tour though. It's something you have to do if you are in Siem Reap. And this tour gives the best value, covering sunrise and sunset, and is a private tour too.
