- Banteay Chhmar - Banteay Chhmar Temple is one of Cambodia’s national treasures. Dating back to the Angkorian period, it serves as a valuable and irreplaceable link to the cultural heritage of the Khmer people. The temple is adorned with numerous Buddhist images and remarkable bas-reliefs depicting life during the Angkorian era, highlighting its significance as a temple complex. For 800 years, the temple remained largely undiscovered and untouched, with nature causing overgrowth and collapse. Unfortunately, recent times have witnessed significant looting.
- Banteay Topth - Banteay Torp is a secluded temple situated 7.7 km south-southeast of Banteay Chhmar (approximately 11 kilometers by modern road). Its name, “the Citadel of the Army,” likely refers to the military garrison stationed there during the reign of King Jayavarman VII (r. 1181-1219). The exact purpose of the temple is unknown, but it may have been constructed to commemorate the military’s recent victories or as the religious center of a garrison-city located there.

Banteay Chhmar is situated approximately 60 kilometers from Serey Sophoan and was built during the reign of Jayavarman VII in the 12th to 13th century. The central temple once housed an image of Srindrakumaraputra (the Crown Prince), likely a son of Jayavarman VII.
