BANTEAY CHHMAR TEMPLES is situated roughly 20 km east of the Thai border. It was erected during Jayavarman VII’s rule in the late 12th or the beginning of the 13th century.

BANTEAY TOP is located about 5km to the south of Banteay Chmar and this temple houses five impressively large yet delicate-looking sanctuaries. The temple’s size may not seem formidable, but satellite imagery reveals it at the heart of a vast area spanning 800 meters in length and 500 meters in width.
