Kbal Spean: Nestled in the verdant forests of the Kulen Hills, about 50 kilometers northeast of Siem Reap, Kbal Spean is an extraordinary archaeological site often dubbed the “River of a Thousand Lingas.” This fascinating location boasts intricate carvings and sculptures engraved into the riverbed and banks, showcasing Hindu deities, animals, and symbols. Banteay Srei is famous for its detailed and elaborate carvings that adorn the walls, lintels, and pediments of the temple. These carvings illustrate scenes from Hindu mythology, including tales from the Ramayana and Mahabharata, as well as complex floral and geometric designs. The craftsmanship is regarded as some of the finest in Khmer art.
