Cooking class at Sorya’s - We attended the cooking class at Sorya’s, and it was a truly wonderful experience. The course began at the local food market, where Sorya explained the cooking habits in Cambodia and showed us the unique characteristics of local ingredients. Afterward, we continued to the garden, where we saw vegetables and herbs growing which was followed by choosing the meal we wanted to cook. Our cooking guide Kong, did an excellent job of explaining how to prepare the local dishes and taking care of us (we were a group of seven people). We had an amazing afternoon and would happily take this cooking class again. A big thanks to Sorya and Kong!

Great family cooking experience - The cooking was a lot of fun even with teenagers! The instructors were patient and made it fun. Learnt a lot and loved the garden tour to see the different plants that are grown at home in Cambodia. Kitchen was very clean and eating the food afterwards was delicious. Visit to the market was great to ask lots of questions about the different foods to home.

Great experience, good spirit , fun and of course good food - We started with a walk through the market where a guide gave us a good idea about the local and the imported products and about the eating habits of the local people. Mr. Kong, our cooking "teacher" did a great job: He explained and showed how to cook our 4 dishes in a Khmer way 👍👍☀️... And it was fun to cook with so many people from different nationalities 👍☀️

Top class cooking class 😉 - The whole thing has hand and foot, we were picked up at the hotel on time by a friendly TukTuk driver. When we arrived, the cooking teacher (that's what she calls herself)Sorya greeted us already with a friendly smile. it was said that we were a maximum of 6 people in the group, in fact we were 23 people. that did not harm the quality of the event. After everyone arrived, Sorya told us the process described. Afterwards, les went with several tuktuk to the market 5 minutes away where mainly the locals shop, which brought a good insight into the habits of the locals. At the market, the cooking teacher told us a lot about the spices, the fish and the other things that are available to buy. Impressive and worth seeing for us Europeans:-). After that, the tuktuk returned and the cooking began. Each of the participants had initially chosen one of 4 dishes (starter, side dish, main course and dessert). This was then prepared one after the other on a separate hob under the guidance of Sorya and her helpers. After about 45 minutes we could all eat our home-cooked menu together. Subsequently, we received the recipes of the different dishes, which makes it possible or easier to prepare Asian cuisine at home. Sorya always had a laugh on her face, certainly not only because of the amount of people, but simply because she enjoyed it and always gladly helped and answered questions. We can highly recommend Sorya and the Cooking Class. It was a round thing that was great fun. Keep it up and thank you

Great Khmer Experience! - My daughter and I went to cook along with our Khmer friend who enjoyed being there too! She said the setting is a traditional Khmer house and it is run by Khmer people, not internationals. We were given a tour of the market, the garden as well as a window into local life with details on how food comes to the market, is sold and used. It was a wonderful experience with a wealth of information and respect for the Khmer culture. The food we prepared was so much fun and we all came away stuffed! I highly recommend this experience! It was also fun chatting with other travelers from around the world :-)

Wonderful experience...100% recommend!! - I attended the Khmer Cooking Class on 29th December 2024, booked through Booking.com What a fantastic experience & definitely one of the highlights of my holiday!! We were collected from our accommodation before assembling at a local market which gave a fascinating insight into the wide range of produce available to the local people. We were then transported to a home with a spacious & well equipped kitchen & dining area. We were then taken through the steps of preparing & coming of four local dishes. Even for a novice cook luke myself the instructions were clear and I was very pleasantly surprised with the results of my efforts...four plates of delicious food!! A special mention must go to our guide/instructor Suriya (otherwise known as Sunshine!!). She was very patient & extremely funny...a real credit to her company Angkor Wat Travel!! She is a proper superstar!! All in all, 100% recommended!!

Wonderful way to spend a morning - What an absolutely wonderful way to spend a spare morning. After the organised sight seeing trips, this was a lovely, relaxing, informative and enjoyable session, preparing a delicious meal for lunch. It was great walking round the local market, used by locals having a guided tour by an expert, followed by a step by step preparation of 4 dishes. Starter, main, vegetable and dessert. Thank you so much for a wonderful morning.
