• Mechrey Floating Village - You will be greeted by our guide and driver at your hotel’s lobby (choose between morning or afternoon tour) then we’re heading to Mechrey floating village. The journey passes beautiful countryside before we embark a private sheltered boat to explore Tonle Sap Lake. The Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia and is also an ecological hot spot that was designated as a UNESCO biosphere in 1997. The boat excursion takes us passing floating school, mangroves, floating houses which animated by some fishing activities. Our tour guide will explain you about Tonle Sap ecosystem and witness how life works in the floating community, and we stop to see floating crocodile farm, souvenirs shop if it interests you before we disembark and return hotel.

The half-day excursion takes you through Cambodia’s picturesque countryside, dotted with palm trees, cows, water buffalos, and farming activities, before arriving at the boat pier in Mechrey village. The boat journey navigates the canal to the less touristy Mechrey floating community on the impressive Tonle Sap, where daily life revolves around fishing and trading activities on rowing boats. You’ll learn how life depends on aquatic resources. On the way back to Siem Reap, a visit to Puok Silk Farm is available at no extra charge.

PLEASE KINDLY NOTE: During the dry season, the water is shallow, but you can still take the boat trip and see everything.
