Away from the tourist flow and highly recommended - My driver, with 20 minutes before the agreed time on time picked me up at just after 05:00. Large spacious vehicle in good condition and he equipped with good English always ready to answer any questions competently. Nevertheless, I am also interested in world events and my view. The journey to the Preah Vihear temple on the border with Thailand took about 4 hours. Afterwards, you get on a motorbike ($5) or car ($25 can be shared with fellow travelers or others) and are taken to the temple top. The whole facility is huge and very impressive. It took me about 1.5 hours to get to and from the ticket station. Afterwards we will go to the temple complex Koh Ker for 2 hours. This is a huge complex with 8-10 temples of which the large phyramid-like temple is the most impressive. It is very reminiscent of a Mayan temple with its construction. Definitely climb (170 steps) and enjoy the view. Return to Siem Reap in 2:00 hrs with arrival at about 17:00 hrs. A long and “difficult day, but worthwhile as a contrast program to the tourists flocking in and around Angkor Wat. Especially because I had a great conversation with my driver about a lot of topics that enriched me off the culture.

Fabulous Day out of Siem Reap - Had a fabulous day out of Siem Reap with Kimy our tour guide who was very informative and also very funny. Preah Vihear and Pol Pot house as well as the big story are a must see. We stopped to watch a lady making palm sugar in a village on the way back to the city which was also a great experience. Would definitely recommend this trip.
