Angkor Thom City, Taprohm and Angkor Wat

Angkor Thom South Gate - We’ll pick you up from your hotel and head to the renowned gate of the last capital city of the Angkorian Period. Here, you’ll witness two rows of Deva & Demon figures holding the body of Naga. Additionally, you can walk through the tower adorned with four giant faces of the future Buddha.

Bayon Temple - Next, we’ll visit the Buddhist Temple with 49 faces located at the center of Angkor Thom. You’ll gain insights into the daily lives of people during the Angkorian Period.

Baphuon Temple - We’ll then proceed to explore Baphuon Temple, a Hindu temple with three levels dedicated to the god Shiva.

Phimeanakas - Our journey continues to Phimeanakas Temple within the Royal Palace.

Terrace of the Elephants - We’ll walk towards the Terrace of the Elephants, known for its numerous elephant carvings.

Terrace of the Leper King - After that, we’ll visit the Terrace of the Leper King, which once served as a hospital.

Ta Prohm Temple - Finally, we’ll reach the jungle temple featured in the Tomb Raider movie. We’ll take a break for lunch here.

Angkor Wat - After lunch, we’ll visit Angkor Wat, the largest Hindu monument in the world.

Tonle Sap Lake & Artisan Angkor Workshop

Kompong Phluk - We’ll pick you up from your hotel and head to Kompong Phluk, an authentic stilted village on the edge of the great Tonle Sap Lake. Here, Khmer, Vietnamese, and Cham people live in harmony with the lake’s fluctuating water levels. Fun fact: most households own both boats and motorbikes, as their roads turn into water channels during the monsoon season. The main attraction here is the eerie Flooded Forest, accessible by boat during the wet season. We’ll then return to Siem Reap.

Artisans Angkor - We’ll explore the Artisans d’Angkor workshop, a social enterprise where skilled artists create beautiful lacquer, stone carvings, and silver-plated pieces. Observing them at work highlights the positive direction Cambodia is heading today. If you don’t find your souvenirs and gifts here, the Old Market might have what you’re looking for.
