EPHESUS PORT TOURS - AMAZING TOUR! - We had the best tour guide! Memo took us to the "must see" places -- Ephesus Archaeological Site, Terrace Houses and Ephesus Experience Museum. He always checked with us to confirm what we wanted to see in addition to his recommendations. We took a photo at the Statue of Mary but didn't need to see the actual site (typically used for prayer). We preferred to see a pottery demo/shop, feast at a local place for lunch and then view a carpet making demo/shop. Our final stop was to one of Memo's favorite places for Baklava (it was absolutely delicious!). Memo was very personable and knowledgeable, and flexible to our timing. I would highly recommend this tour -- and Memo in particular.

Must experience! - Azi, our tour guide, was impeccable! She was knowledgeable about biblical substance of the tour. We went to the Virgin Mary’s house, the highlight of the tour. Azi was ready with paper and pen for petitions. Make sure to buy a lot of souvenirs here as they’re rare and expensive in the States. Our Turkish lunch by the garden was delicious, €10 per person. After that, we were taken to carpet making and it got a little awkward as they were selling hard for us to buy, which we did not like about the tour, waste of time too. We went to John the Apostle’s sarcophagus/tomb, which was significant. The driver and the van were fantastic. Perfect tour except for the hard sell.

Ephesis was fabulous - I traveled with my husband and two other couples, we were on a cruise and had a day in Kusadisi /Ephesus. This tour was excellent, it was a full day and our guide was accommodating and very knowledgeable. We stopped for lunch at Turkish restaurant and it was great. My only negative comment was that we were taken to see how rugs were made, pottery was made and one other stop that we finally refused. There was no overt pressure to purchase from these shops and there were demonstrations (which I personally found interesting as I enjoy crafts) but my husband found this to be subtly pressuring for us to purchase some of these goods (we did not and none of our party did). I did not find it to be a problem, but my husband did. On the positive side, our tour of Ephesis was fablulous and the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and personable. The car was great and the driver was excellent.

Great for cruises and Christians - Golem was a great guide. We arrived on a cruise and he was punctual picking us and dropping us back off. Very knowledgeable about turkey’s history and religion. Ephesus was so much bigger than we expected and Golsu really brought the ancient to life. We were following Paul’s journeys and Ephesus was the best tour we had of all the city’s we have seen. Definitely recommend

Some bits good, other bits a bit of a scam. - If you are looking for a private tour of Ephesus - this is certainly worth booking. However there are two important points, 1) Don’t go to Mary’s house. It feels like a scam at 15EUR per person. However if you are religious - you may have different opinion. 2) Attraction costs are not included - you are paying for the transport and guide only. This means you need to be prepared with both cash and cards. We had lunch at a restaraunt which was ok but nothing special compared to other places we had visited in Turkey. We are a family with two young children (11 year old & 7 year old.) Our guide did not have experience with children so whilst is very good for adult he was inexperience at communicating with children. Hopefully he’ll get experience so make experience better in future. It was an expensive day out in Turkey and felt overall not good value for money. This maybe the Turkish Lira financial issues but it felts prices were double Greece or Italy for equivalent visit scope.
