- Ancient City of Ephesus - When we reach in Ephesus we start to explore this well-preserved ancient city. It was a city in ancient Greece on the coast of Ionia, 3 kilometers (1.9 mi) southwest of present-day Selçuk in İzmir Province, Turkey. It was built in the 10th century BC on the site of the former Arzawan capital by Attic and Ionian Greek colonists. During the Classical Greek era, it was one of twelve cities that were members of the Ionian League. The city came under the control of the Roman Republic in 129 BC.
- Selcuk - we will have time for lunch which is included. We would like to introduce you to the local cultural aspects of Ephesus by showing handmade Carpet & rug Art done. through traditional weaving in the Teaching Village and you’ll enjoy many Ephesus Ceramics as well.
- Sirince - After Lunch, we will proceed to Sirince which is a cute little village with a fun history, beautiful views, wonderful food, hospitality, and so much more. It’s perhaps the perfect synthesis of a traditional Turkish village and a traditional Greek village. In fact, the town, whose name actually means “cute” in Turkish, used to be called “Çirkince,” meaning “ugly.” This was an ironic take on the beauty of the village and was also used to ward off others. As people wised up to how spectacular the village’s location and architecture really were, they changed the name to Şirince in 1926.

Great times in Ephesus. - We loved the trip. It was a quick easy pickup from the port and the ride was luxurious and comfortable. The ruins of Ephesus were awe inspiring and really showed us how advanced the city was. We had a great time exploring the regions arts and culture with our wonderful guide Ercument. Would go again.

Gray Day in Turkey - We had a Fantastic Day with Mehmet. We were picked up right on time He took us right away to Ephesus where we learned so much History. He made it very interesting. We then went to village and had a wine tour And did some shopping. Lunch was at a Turkish rug coop but we were not pressured to buy. Mehmet told us up front we did not have to stay. We again had a wonderful day and I would recommend Mehmet to anyone heading Kusadasi on a cruise.

Gokhan- The Best Tour Guide Around :) - Our tour was with: Gokhan. He turned out to be the BEST TOUR GUIDE during our 20 yrs. of traveling the world. He’s professional, knowledgeable, kind & very giving. He’s honest & will answer any & all questions. You will NOT be disappointed if you request him. We went over 90 minutes since we bought Turkish rugs after lunch.

Smart Turkey Tours - - What a great day? Our guide Mithat was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and history. We have had a very enjoyable day and are now planning to put Turkey on our bucket list . There is so much more we want to explore and see .

Great tour and excellent value. - Great tour led by our guide Selcuk who was very informative and extremely careful to warn of rough and slippery areas during our tour of Ephesus. We had been there ten years earlier but learnt so much more with a guide. We chose to ignore the carpet and ceramic visits so had a good lunch in the town of Selcuk en route to Sirince Village which seemed bigger than our last visit and included a wine tasting, still not sure what's in that jar we bought to take home! Well recommend Smart Tours, made even better with the roomy Merc minibus and the excellent driver who's name escapes me.

Best tour guide, best value of any tour! - Deniz was not only pleasant and vastly knowledgeable, but he tailored the entire trip to us. The views, good, and information were only rivaled by the fact that it was private- just my husband and I! Cannot recommend Deniz enough!
