Ephesus, one of the 12 cities of the Ionian League (an ancient Greek district on the western coast of Asia Minor), is located near Izmir. As a port city, it was a major departure point for trade routes into Asia Minor. Walk through history along marble streets lined with magnificent public buildings, including the Baths of Scholastica and the Library of Celsus, which was built in the early 2nd century A.D. by Gaius Julius Aquila in memory of his father, Gaius Julius Celsus Polemanus, the proconsul of the Province of Asia. The Temple of Hadrian and the Grand Theater are two of the most impressive structures in Ephesus. The Grand Theater, built in the 3rd century B.C., was later expanded by the Romans in the 1st century A.D. to accommodate 24,000 spectators.
• Sirince Koyu - After a lunch break, drive up to the charming old Turkish-Orthodox village of Sirince, located atop a mountain. Here, you can enjoy the impressive vineyards and peach trees. The village is a blend of Turkish and Greek cultures, featuring a mosque and an Orthodox church. The narrow streets are lined with women selling various handcrafts and olive oil. Another attraction of Sirince is its wine, which you can sample in small cafés.
• The Temple of Artemis - Our last stop is the Temple of Artemis, once one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. After visiting the Temple of Artemis, drive to Kusadasi town center and then to the port.
• Kusadasi - Arrival at Kusadasi City Center. Drop off at the Port of Kusadasi, the city center, or your hotel. This marks the end of our services.
