• Ege Ports - Our guide will meet you at Kusadasi Port / Hotel with an EPHESUS SHUTTLE sign. Meeting times vary for each cruise line and will be provided during your confirmation.

• Meryemana (The Virgin Mary’s House) - We will take a 30-minute drive to the House of the Virgin Mary, located in the Aladag Mountains, 5 miles from Ephesus. At the third Ecumenical Council in 431 AD in Ephesus, it was claimed that Mary came to Ephesus with St. John in 37 A.D. and lived there until her death in 48 A.D. After the house was discovered, the Archbishop of Izmir declared it a place of pilgrimage in 1892. On July 26, 1967, Pope Paul VI visited and prayed there.

• Ancient City of Ephesus - We will take a 10-minute drive to Ephesus from the House of the Virgin Mary. We will begin our visit to one of Turkey’s main highlights, Ephesus, one of the 12 cities of the Ionian League (an ancient Greek district on the western coast of Asia Minor) located near Izmir. As a port city, it was a major departure point for trade routes into Asia Minor.

Walk through history along marble streets lined with magnificent public buildings, including the Baths of Scholastica and the Library of Celsus, built in the early 2nd century A.D. by Gaius Julius Aquila as a memorial to his father, Gaius Julius Celsus Polemanus, the proconsul of the Province of Asia. The Temple of Hadrian and the Grand Theater are two of the most impressive buildings in Ephesus. The Grand Theater was built in the 3rd century B.C. and was later expanded by the Romans in the 1st century A.D. to accommodate 24,000 spectators.

• Ephesus Terrace Houses - Terrace houses are included only in the “with Terrace Houses” option and are not included in other options. The Terrace Houses are located on the slopes of Pion Mountain and consist of 6 residential units built on three man-made terraces. These houses were inhabited by wealthy citizens of Ephesus and were lavishly decorated with wall frescoes and floor mosaics. There are many steps to climb from bottom to top, so it is not recommended for people with walking difficulties or acrophobia (fear of heights).

• Setur Kusadasi Marina Carsi - Drive to the port through Kusadasi Marina. Arrival and end of services.

• The Temple of Artemis - Our last stop will be at the Temple of Artemis, once one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, before driving back to your hotel, Kusadasi town center, or port.
