Highlights
  • Kilim Karst Geoforest Park - Travel by boat through the twists and turns of the Kilim river through the maze created by aerial roots and thick fleshy leaves of the mangrove trees. We often see mangrove animals that make their home in this delicately balanced ecosystem which is responsible for the health and wide variety of species in the Andaman Sea. We also explore how the mangrove area is a perfect environment for cottage industries such as fish farms. Our first stop is The boatman will stop the engine and throw some chicken pieces out into the water to invite the eagles. And in no time you will see eagles diving down just next to you and clawing up the chicken pieces and eating them as they soar into the sky. As we venture out of the mangroves you will see majestic limestone rock formations and sea stacks that rise dramatically from the ocean. This ancient coral thrust into the sky millions of years ago is home to a unique and ancient group of plants found no where else on earth.

A must do in Langkawi! - Excellent package. Well organized, toured through beautiful mangroves, watched eagles, went through a tunnel, visited bat cave, and did some snorkelling.

Great tour with swim - Enjoyed this great well organised tour, especially the opportunity to watch this many wild sea eagles feeding was really impressive, meetup with friendly monkey families and then have a cooling swim at a beautiful beach at the end of the trip.

A must do when in Langkawi - Excellent experience - on time pickup, well organised at the boat jetty. Amazing tour host, very knowledgeable and good humour too. Eagles, Monkeys, Bats and Mangroves, wonderful beach stop too. Good food at the floating market with more than sufficient portion of rice and fried chicken. All in we were out for 6 hours.

Great tour - Great tour and very informative and friendly guide. We were picked up from our hotel and taken to the boat. Basic lunch is included (chicken, rice and a drink) but you are given an option to purchase a different option. I only wish we had been taken closer to the Kilim Geoforest sign for pictures as from the far distance we were it was difficult to see it

Excellent - You are not picked up at the parking lot where everyone is standing, but at the entrance to the parking lot. At the beginning there is an introduction, then you go on the boats. You have to pay $2 in cash for the cave. The monkeys came very close, but did not try to steal. It was very dark in the bat cave and in some places the ceiling was low. The bats were very small and difficult to see because they were hanging high up on the ceiling. Our guide told us a lot about the animals and the mangroves in good English. The boat trips were great. The captain went fast and we jumped on the waves. There were about 15 eagles that flew all around us and caught fish from the river. Unfortunately we couldn't swim because there was algae in the water that made you itch. Instead we went out to sea in the boats and into a beautiful bay to a cave with wall paintings. Unfortunately they weren't that great (lots of steps). The fish farm was OK, but very small. There was also lunch there, but we didn't eat it (when we're on a cruise, we don't need lunch). Apparently it wasn't that great either (mass processing). You can't pay with a credit card there, only cash. The trip was great and is highly recommended.

Great tour but needs improvement (see review) - Booked this tour through hotel. Very interesting - visited bat cave, eagle feeding area, beach, fish farm and lunch ... . Since this is an UNESCO site where many tourists will visit, the fish farm MUST do major repairs to the washrooms- there is NO water at the broken sink, toilets cannot be flushed. This suggests that the restaurant's hygiene is suspect. Hope above can be carried out ASAP.
