Our kayaking trip will either start at the coast and end upriver or the other way around, depending on the tidal conditions. Take in the limestone forests perched on the slopes of the impressive limestone outcrops in the northeast of the Jewel of Kedah. Your guide will share fascinating facts and insights about the vital ecosystem of the mangrove forest. The tangled roots of these unique plants serve as feeding and breeding grounds for various organisms like fish and also offer protection from predators.
- Kilim Karst Geoforest Park - As you paddle along the Kubang Badak River, uncover the hidden wonders of the rich wildlife and its stunning surroundings. The diverse wildlife you may encounter includes Brahminy kites, herons, mudskippers, white-bellied sea eagles, macaques, monitor lizards, herons, and fiddler crabs, among others. Occasionally, you might even spot the resident otter family.
Your kayaking adventure will take you past a local fishing station where you can observe local fishermen gathering or heading out to sea. We will continue our journey and hike a short jungle trail to a pristine secluded pool. Take a refreshing dip in the clear, cool waters to escape the sun’s heat.
