Highlights
 • Royal Selangor Visitor Centre - As we drive to the outskirts of the city, cruise along the

‘Ambassador Row’ and Malay villages. Our initial destination, the Royal Selangor Pewter, stands as the world’s most substantial and advanced pewter factory, celebrated for its superior quality items and distinguished artisanship. While touring the facility, you’ll have the opportunity to observe various stages of pewter creation, including casting, filing, polishing, soldering, hammering, and engraving. Following that, we visit a Batik Factory to witness the intricate process of designing and printing batik textiles.

 • Batu Caves - The final point of interest on our journey is the Batu Caves’ limestone formations. Ascending a series of 272 steps brings you to a revered Hindu temple cave, home to the sanctuary of the Hindu deity, Lord Murugah. Additionally, the museum cave nearby is adorned with statues of gods and wall paintings that illustrate narratives from Hindu lore.

Batu Caves: An extraordinary experience - I was impressed with the size and beauty of the statue that impose its serene and majestic aura. The monastic blessing is a necessary step on your preparation to climb the steps that leads to the cave. Amidst people and all sorts of monkey personalities the climbing experience will be a beautiful memory to cherish for the rest of your life. It is definitely a site to visit in Kuala Lumpur.

Amazing - Amazing statue. There are 272 steps. Don't look down when climbing. Take you time. Once get inside, the cave is amazing. You can go into second cave after taking a couple more steps. The second cave has natural sun light coming from open-top. I like second cave more. Cave is so big I think a 737 can fit. We didn't go to Dark Cave. You have to pay to go in there. Two paid trips for Dark Cave. One for Education and the other is for Adventure which is farther inside the cave. You will see monkeys there. They are not aggressive. One note, don't look up while climbing; you will be looking at someone's bottom.

Excellent tour. Even though there... -
Excellent tour. Even though there were other guests in the trip as it was a shared trip, was enjoyable.Only the Batik village included in the trip was time wasting thing. Just a store with so much things to sell, most of which are not traditionally printed items. Driver was very informative and timely.

Incredible Batu Caves - I would recommend the morning tour, as it gets very hot later on. carry water and dress respectfully as it is a religious place. Our tour guide was very friendly and picked us up on time from the hotel, no problems. he tells you about the place on the way, but doesn't take you in i.e. you are dropped off and wander around on your own while he waits in the parking. the Batik shop was pretty boring, basically 2 mins of how they make it and then its for you to shop. no one pressures you, so that's okay. the Royal Selangor pewter tour was really interesting, you get a tour guide that speaks excellent English and I ended up buying two pewter dragons :)

Good tour guide - Pewter factory was interesting, kids and adults learned a lot there, although the guides at the factory were very rigid and not overly personable. Batik shop was nice and is good to appreciate how clever the artists are. Batu caves was amazing to see, glad we went there. Half day tour is more than enough if you have children.

Caves were a great experience! - Caves were a great experience and must see when visiting KL. There's 272 steps to get to the top. Make sure you wear something that covers your knees or you can also borrow a cover for 5 RM and then you get 2 RM back when you return it. Once you get to the top, there's a temple. A lot of monkeys on the way. Since this is a group tour, you'll have to have a lot of patience. We rode in a coach bus with a lot of people. There were two stops before the caves. One was the Pewter factory. That was interesting to walk through and the other was a fabric factory. That one I can skip. The reason why you'll have to have patience is because there will be people who take a little more time at each stop. If you're not interested, you'll still have to wait. We were hoping to make it back in time for another toured we had scheduled but we ended up being late because there's a lot of sitting around waiting. We only spent about 45 minutes at the caves which was supposed to be the highlight of the tour. No fault to our guide since he was just doing his job and taking us where he was supposed to. If you really want to spend time at the cave and not have to waste your time waiting around, I suggest you take a taxi. Caves are free.

Lovely caves, poor tour - The caves are lovely and my kids enjoyed them. The tour guide however was a shambles. She didn't really know any facts as we drove out to the pewter factory and on to the caves. Every sentence was a guess at what was going on around. Pretty poor. Visiting the scarf factory was a complete waste.

Waste of time - Where do I start. We booked for the morning pickup and waited outside our hotel from 8:30 to 9:45 when I eventually called them to find out what was happening. They then said the driver was there to collect us but we weren't waiting so they left. NO DRIVER OR GUIDE EVER ARRIVED! Then we got moved to the afternoon tour which was ok...underwhelming to say the least. First stop the Pewter factory (not a bad stop but just a ploy to try sell you something). Then you go to some little warehouse where they show you how to fold a scarf... this part of the tour is absolutely pointless... Then we finally get to what is meant to be the highlight of the tour and everything at BATU caves is under tarpaulin being renovated so you walk up the steps look in the cave and thats it. All shrines and temples are covered up so its not even photo worthy... rather pay a GRAB driver to take you and drop you off. You will save time and money>
