This verdant park, established in the 1880s, is the oldest public recreational area in KL. Spanning 101 hectares in the city’s heart, it offers a peaceful green retreat from the urban hustle.

Perdana Botanical Gardens:

Also known as “Lake Gardens,” Perdana Botanical Gardens is Kuala Lumpur’s oldest and most beloved park. Located on the city’s edge, it was once the site of grand homes built by the British elite during colonial times.

Today, its landscaped hills and scenic trails offer city residents a place for jogging or early morning t’ai chi. The main attraction is a lake surrounded by lush greenery within a 92-hectare (227-acre) park, providing a refreshing atmosphere.

  • Orchid & Hibiscus Gardens - The Kuala Lumpur Orchid Garden, along with the adjacent Hibiscus Garden, is a serene spot to admire exotic tropical flowers in beautifully landscaped surroundings. It is a true paradise of stunning blooms, showcasing a diverse collection of the world’s most beautiful tropical flowers.
  • Kuala Lumpur Bird Park - Wander through the aviaries at the Bird Park, and take a leisurely walk through the Butterfly Park, Deer Park, and Orchid Garden.

  • Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia - Islamic Arts Museum:

Interest in Islamic arts has surged in recent years. Reflecting this growing awareness, Malaysia opened Southeast Asia’s largest museum of Islamic art in December 1998. The museum spans 30,000 sq.m. and houses over seven thousand artefacts, along with an impressive library of Islamic art books.

  • National Museum - The National Museum:

The National Museum leads museum activities in Malaysia and has played a crucial role in preserving the nation’s heritage. Its construction, symbolizing national identity, marked a significant milestone in the history of earlier museums like the Taiping Museum, Perak (1883), Sarawak Museum (1888), and Selangor Museum (1889).

The Royal Malaysian Police Museum features a captivating collection of artefacts and exhibits that chronicle the history and role of the RMP from its inception to the present day.

  • National Monument - Tugu Negara (National Monument):

The National Monument was erected to honor those who sacrificed their lives for peace and freedom, especially during the nation’s fight against communism. The grounds feature one of the world’s largest free-standing bronze sculptures, created in 1966 by Felix de Weldon, who also designed the famous Iwo Jima monument in Washington DC.

Relaxing day with lots of different unique experiences - Was a great day. Even though we went in the middle of summer it didn't feel very hot. Yes, it was humid but wasn't overbearing as there was a lot of shade and places to sit and relax. I had a great day and saw a lot of different things.
