- East Coast Batik Sdn Bhd (Batik CHONG) - Founded in 1974, East Coast Batik is one of the oldest batik and handicraft centers in Klang Valley. - Istana Negara - Istana Negara, or the National Palace, is the official residence of the King of Malaysia. This grand building on Jalan Duta became the National Palace in November 2011, replacing the old palace on Jalan Istana. It features 22 domes, with the largest dome reaching 40 meters in height. Note: visits are limited to the exterior.
- National Monument - The National Monument was built to honor those who sacrificed their lives for peace and freedom, especially during the nation’s fight against communism. The grounds feature one of the world’s largest free-standing bronze sculptures, created in 1966 by Felix de Weldon, who also sculpted the famous Iwo Jima monument in Washington, DC.
- The River of Life - The River of Life is a notable attraction in Kuala Lumpur, located near the city’s oldest mosque, Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad. It is the meeting point of the Klang River and the Gombak River.
- National Mosque (Masjid Negara) - The National Mosque, or Masjid Negara, is one of the city’s most prominent landmarks. It features a unique star-shaped dome and a 73-meter high minaret. The design blends modern architecture with traditional Islamic art, calligraphy, and ornamentation. Visitors should dress appropriately, and women are required to wear headscarves.
- Malayan Railway Administration Building - One of Malaysia’s most beautiful historic buildings, the Railway Station and Administration Building is a stunning example of Moorish architecture.
- Merdeka Square - Merdeka Square, or Independence Square, is located directly opposite the Sultan Abdul Samad building and next to the Royal Selangor Club. This historic site is where the Union Flag was lowered, and the Malayan flag was raised for the first time at midnight on August 31, 1957. Since then, Merdeka Square has been the venue for the annual Independence Parade.
- Sultan Abdul Samad Building - The iconic Sultan Abdul Samad building, constructed in 1890, stands in front of Merdeka Square. Its architecture features a distinctive Moorish design, and its clock tower is reminiscent of London’s Big Ben.
- Kuala Lumpur City Gallery - Founded in 1989, KL City Gallery occupies a building that has served various purposes, including as a printing office, the Ministry of Labour, and the Postal Authorities. It now houses two floors of exhibition space, a cafe, a museum shop, and serves as a tourist information center.
- Thean Hou Temple - Thean Hou Temple is a six-tiered temple dedicated to the Chinese sea goddess Mazu, located on 1.67 acres atop Robson Heights. Completed in 1987 and officially opened in 1989, it was built by Hainanese Malaysians and is one of Southeast Asia’s largest temples.
- Little India Brickfields - Brickfields began as a brick-making center in the late 19th century after a fire and flood devastated Kuala Lumpur in 1881. The disasters destroyed the town’s wooden and thatched structures, prompting British Resident Sir Frank Swettenham to mandate the use of brick and tile in new buildings, giving the town its purpose.
- Sri Maha Mariamman Temple - Founded in 1873, Sri Maha Mariamman Temple is Kuala Lumpur’s oldest Hindu temple. Located at the edge of Chinatown on Jalan Bandar (formerly High Street), a new structure featuring the ornate ‘Raja Gopuram’ tower in South Indian temple style was built in 1968.
