China Town (Night Market)

Petaling Street, also known as Chinatown, is a bustling area where visitors flock to enjoy famous street foods or find great bargains on a variety of items. From clothes and souvenirs to electronics, fabrics, handbags, wallets, watches, and shoes, you can find almost anything here.

  • Sri Maha Mariamman Temple - The Sri Maha Mariamman Temple is nestled between the pre-war shop houses of Chinatown. Known for its intricate deities, it is a prime example of Southern Indian temple architecture. Built in 1873, the temple features a magnificent 22-meter high gate tower and is adorned with gold and precious stones dedicated to the Hindu goddess Sri Maha Mariamman.

  • Sultan Abdul Samad Building - This iconic building, topped with a gleaming copper dome and a 40-meter high clock tower, is a major city landmark. It serves as the backdrop for significant events like the National Day Parade on August 31 and New Year’s celebrations. The heritage building once housed Malaysia’s Supreme Court.

  • Merdeka Square - Located in front of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building, Merdeka Square is where the Union Flag was lowered, and the Malayan flag was first raised at midnight on August 31, 1957.

  • The River of Life - One of Kuala Lumpur’s most iconic areas, the River of Life is near Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad, the city’s oldest mosque. It is the confluence of the Klang and Gombak rivers. The Klang River flows through Kuala Lumpur and Selangor into the Straits of Malacca, while the Gombak River is another major river in the Klang Valley. Initially an expensive urban river restoration project, the River of Life is now recognized as one of the world’s top 10 most beautiful waterfronts.

  • Jamek Mosque - As one of Kuala Lumpur’s oldest mosques, Masjid Jamek is a must-visit. Situated between the Klang and Gombak rivers, it is a popular tourist destination. Built in 1909 by Sultan Abdul Samad, it remains the central place of worship for the city’s Muslim community. The mosque’s name comes from the Arabic word “Jami,” meaning a place where the community gathers for worship.

  • Petronas Twin Towers - We’ll make a photo stop at the Petronas Twin Towers, which stand at 451.9 meters above street level. This world-famous icon is the tallest twin structure and the fifth tallest skyscraper globally. The skybridge connecting the two towers is the highest two-story bridge in the world and offers a fantastic viewing platform.

  • ARAS Restaurant KL Tower - Experience a luxurious fusion dining experience at ARAS, located atop Menara Kuala Lumpur. Enjoy a culinary journey with a buffet of local and international dishes, all while taking in breathtaking views of Kuala Lumpur’s skyline. Our menu blends traditional and modern elements to create a unique and sophisticated dining experience.
