• Brickfields - Stroll through the Little India Shop area, where you can explore Indian restaurants, jewelry shops, and stores selling Indian costumes, among other things. Enjoy tasting some Indian cookies.
• Vivekananda Ashram - The first stop is the Vivekananda Ashram, built in 1904. This elegant whitewashed building with Moghul-style decorations was named in honor of the Indian spiritual leader Vivekananda, who visited Malaya in 1893.
• Little India Brickfields - This area is rich with the sights, sounds, and aromas typical of Little India districts across Malaysia. You’ll find bridal beauty parlors, general stores filled with incense sticks, kitchenware, and other Indian products, shops selling saris, jewelry, Pooja altars, Hindi movies, Bombay Mix, and sweetmeats, Tamil internet cafes, curry shops, sugar cane stalls, and more.

Passing by florist shops selling garlands of fragrant jasmine and other colorful blooms, we arrive at the brightly painted Little India District, which was recently renovated and inaugurated by the Prime Ministers of India and Malaysia on October 27, 2010.

• Church Of Our Lady Of Fatima - We then pass the Catholic Church of Our Lady of Fatima and continue along Jalan Sultan Abdul Samad.
• Jalan Berhala - Passing by Jalan Berhala, which means Shrine Street, the Brickfields Heritage Walk takes us past more places of worship.
• Buddhist Maha Vihara - Founded by the Sinhalese community in 1894, most devotees now seem to be Chinese. In the temple grounds is a Bodhi tree grown from a cutting taken from the sacred Bodhi tree in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka.

Opposite the temple is a magnificently preserved traditional wooden house in Malay style. This pre-WW2 house was once typical of the entire street. It was occupied by the parents of a Malaysian tycoon who has since restored it for private use.

• Klang River - The Klang River flows through Kuala Lumpur and Selangor in Malaysia, eventually emptying into the Straits of Malacca.

Tamil Methodist Church - Nearby is the Tamil Methodist Church, established in 1896 (though the current building dates from the 1960s). Services are conducted in Nepali, Indonesian, Telugu, English, and Tamil.

• Evangelical Lutheran Church - Dating back to 1924, this church was likely established to serve the area’s Tamil community.
• Madrasathul Gouthiyyah Surau Brickfields - The Brickfields Walk rejoins Jalan Sultan Abdul Samad, passing the Madrasathul Gouthiyyah Surau, a mosque and madrassa built in the 1980s, primarily serving Indian Muslims.

Brickfields Shivan Temple - One of the most visited temples in the country.

• Sam Kow Tong Temple - This Chinese temple in Brickfields was founded in 1916 by the Heng Hua clan. Its name translates to “Hall of Three Teachings.”

Malaysian Association For The Blind (MAB) - On the opposite corner is the Malaysian Association For The Blind complex. Many of its members find work in the numerous Blind Massage Centres located on Jalan Thambypillai.

• YMCA of Kuala Lumpur Hostel - The Little India Walk heads back towards KL Sentral, passing along Jalan Padang Belia (where the YMCA is located) before turning into Jalan Thambypillai.

As expected, there are numerous Indian restaurants along the route of the Little India Walking Tour.
