  • Melaka - Malacca City, also known as Melaka, is the capital of the coastal state of Malacca in southwestern Malaysia. According to the Malay Annals, Melaka was named after a tree. Parameswara, a prince from Palembang, was hunting when he saw a pelanduk (mouse deer) kick one of his hound dogs. Astonished by the encounter, Parameswara thought the land would be an excellent site for his Malay empire.
  • Little India - Pass by Little India to see the heritage buildings of the Chettiar community.
  • St. Peter’s Church - St. Peter’s Church in Melaka City is the oldest functioning Roman Catholic Church in Malaysia, established in 1710.
  • Bukit China (Chinese Hill) - Drive past Bukit China, the largest 15th-century Chinese cemetery outside of China.
  • Hang Li Po Well - Also known as King’s Well, this historical water well in Malacca City is the oldest in Malaysia. Locals throw coins into the well for good luck.
  • Red Square (Dutch Square) - Red Square features salmon-pink Dutch administrative buildings that now house the Melaka Museum and other government offices.
  • Tan Beng Swee Clock Tower - This clock tower outside the Stadthuys was donated to the people of Malacca in 1886 by Mr. Tan Jiak Kim to fulfill his father Tan Beng Swee’s wishes. Tan Beng Swee was a third-generation member of a philanthropic Chinese millionaire family.
  • Queen Victoria’s Fountain - Built in 1901 by the British, this fountain commemorates Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. It is located near the Stadthuys Malacca, Christ Church, and the Tan Beng Swee Clock Tower.
  • Sultan’s Well, Perigi Hang Li Poh - Also known as King’s Well, this historical water well in Malacca City is the oldest in Malaysia. Locals throw coins into the well for good luck.
  • Dutch Square (Red Square) Melaka - The Stadthuys, a historical structure in the heart of Malacca City, is known for its red exterior and nearby red clock tower. Built by the Dutch in 1650, it served as the office of the Dutch Governor and Deputy Governor.
  • Christ Church Melaka - An 18th-century Anglican church in Malacca City, Christ Church is the oldest functioning Protestant church in Malaysia and falls under the jurisdiction of the Lower Central Archdeaconry of the Anglican Diocese of West Malaysia.
  • A Famosa - A former Portuguese fortress in Malacca, A Famosa is one of the oldest surviving European architectural remains in Southeast Asia and the Far East. The Porta de Santiago, a small gatehouse, is the only remaining part of the fortress.
  • Jonker Walk World Heritage Park - Jonker Walk (Chinatown)
