Butterfly & Reptile Sanctuary: The Butterfly & Reptile Sanctuary, also known as Taman Rama Rama, is a tourist attraction in Ayer Keroh. It features a variety of animals, including beautiful butterflies, snakes, lizards, crocodiles, koi fish, and a pair of stunning golden leopards. Opened in 1991, the well-maintained sanctuary is divided into five sections: the Koi River Valley, Butterfly Garden, Reptile Aviary, Wild Photo Lane, and Nature’s Art Centre.
- Mini Malaysia & ASEAN Cultural Park Melaka - Mini Malaysia & ASEAN Cultural Park: This cultural park showcases impressive replicas of traditional Malaysian and ASEAN homes. Similar to the Karyaneka Handicraft Centre in KL, each house is furnished with fixtures and artworks that depict the culture of each state or country.
- Zoo Melaka - Melaka Zoo: Located 13 km outside Malacca city in Ayer Keroh, Melaka Zoo is the second largest zoo in Malaysia, housing over 1,200 animals from 200 different species. The zoo’s highlight is the night-viewing safari, where visitors are driven around in a tram to see illuminated exhibits of nocturnal wildlife. Spread across 54 acres, the zoo is managed by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks and is home to a variety of birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians, including the Malayan gaur, serow, and Malayan tiger.
- Taman Buaya & Rekreasi Melaka - Crocodile Farm: Opened in 1987, the farm features various species of crocodiles and alligators, including a massive American alligator, a striped spectacled caiman, and pale Indian marsh mugger crocodiles. The crocodiles are housed in manmade, swamp-like conditions that mimic their natural habitat. Don’t miss the photo sessions with baby crocodiles.
