This evening exploration of the Selangor province, with its laid-back capital, is one example of what you can expect when venturing away from the hustle and bustle of Kuala Lumpur.

Your driver/guide will meet you at your hotel lobby around 4 p.m. for a shared tour out of Kuala Lumpur and toward the state of Selangor. This easy drive takes around one hour to reach Kuala Selangor. This is a diverse town, where authentic rural life still plays an important role, and where income out of fishing and farming comprises the majority of the region’s revenue. Besides this, large parts of the state and surrounding Kuala Selangor are now used for the in-demand palm oil and rubber cultivation industry. Head up to Bukit Melawati, overlooking the Strait of Melaka; once the home base for two forts, this is the perfect spot to get a panoramic view of the landscape and see ships coming and going. You might also get the chance to see the sliver leaf monkeys roaming around freely.

Don’t miss the chance to try out the area’s delicacies for yourself, in a region where fish and seafood are caught in abundance. Dinner will be served at one of the leading seafood restaurants in Kuala Selangor, before heading upstream to watch thousands of fireflies twinkling in the dark along the thick mangrove trees. The boat will sail up from Kampung Kuantan, crossing parts of the Selangor River estuary

Return back to the pier, where your driver will be waiting to bring you back to Kuala Lumpur. Tour ends with drop-off at your hotel at approximately 10 p.m.
