Additional Information

Port Dickson originated as a humble Malay settlement occupied by fishermen and merchants. It originally bore the name ‘Arang’, a moniker sourced from a local coal mine. During colonial rule, a British officer known as Sir Frederic Dickson transformed Arang (which translates to Charcoal) into a port designed to facilitate the transport of abundant tin ore deposits. The settlement assumed the title of Port Dickson (in honour of the officer) and quickly evolved into a bustling harbour connected by railway.
Just a one-hour trip from Kuala Lumpur, Port Dickson offers a myriad of sights to experience and is a preferred choice for Malaysians desiring a retreat from the fast-paced urban environment.
