Additional Information

With a mix of cultural influences on the nation’s cuisine, it’s no wonder that Malaysian food is a lip-smackingly complex beast.

We’ll meet in the old district of Chow Kit and Kampung Baru, one of the last remaining districts that is yet to be developed into glassy high rises.

Don’t expect other foreigners. Stroll in this local neighbourhood of nightly street eats, sampling a variety of 15+ tastings, carefully curated for their culinary history.

The flavours change across the year, but highlights include the fragrant bowls of laksa, hand stretched rotis, nasi lemak with piquant sambal and herbal chicken rendang, charcoal-grilled mackerel, and soothing iced cendol with custard-like durian. We’ll end with a fine view of the mighty Petronas Twin Towers.

I’m sure you have a lot of your plate, but here’s some food for thought. While it’s possible to attempt such a culinary marathon yourself, you’d be one sandwich short of a Malaysian picnic not to join me on our moveable food feast.

Great experience - Really great experience, a lot of good food so come hungry! Even got a go at part of the roti making. Really good time and great to mix with a group. Was a few other solo travellers in our group.

Essential food tour - The tour was well planned and was a great introduction to Malay foods. We thoroughly enjoyed that they take you to spots that you would likely walk past and every stop was an absolute winner. Our guide, Steven, was extremely knowledgeable and kept the vibes high throughout the afternoon. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour to friends and family.

Definitely worth it - We had a really nice evening.walked around tasting different kind of foods. Started with different kind of fruits. Than we could make our own roti from dough was really funny and harder than it looked. We had tastings with different influences from India china and Indonesia and of course the typical Malaysian food. The tour guide knew a lot about the food and told us some different things about the city. Definitely worth the money!

Exciting, well organised and delicious food tour with super friendly guide - A fantastic tour with so many delicious (and interesting foods to sample). Our tour guide Sam was so friendly and informative about the food culture and history of Malaysia. It was super organised as he pre-ordered many of the food items so they were ready for us arriving. My favourite food was the fried banana and the satay chicken. I particularly LOVED getting to flip our own Roti. Thank you for a memorable day Sam. I also wanted to say thank you for ensuring we all had onward transport to our hotels and were there to help us if we needed it. You are awesome!

Best food tour ever! - Kiran is incredible, the food was amazing and super authentic in a totally untouristy area. Kiran really took time to explain to us the culture and food in KL. Couldn’t recommend a tour and guide more 1000/10!
