A Scenic Drive to Kullu

Our day began with a scenic drive from Manali to Kullu, a journey that was as much a part of the adventure as the destinations themselves. The road meandered alongside the Beas River, offering breathtaking views of lush green valleys and the majestic Himalayas. After a delightful lunch of authentic Himachali cuisine, we headed to Naggar, a town steeped in history and culture. Our first stop was the Raghunath Temple, a place of worship dedicated to Lord Rama. The temple’s unique architecture and serene atmosphere provided a moment of reflection and peace amidst our busy day. It was heartwarming to see the kids engage with the local customs and traditions, asking questions and showing genuine interest.

Next, we explored the historic Naggar Castle. The castle, with its panoramic views of the Kullu Valley, was a highlight of our tour. The kids loved exploring the castle’s nooks and crannies, while my husband and I marveled at the blend of traditional and European architectural styles. The castle’s museum and scenic gardens offered plenty of photo opportunities, capturing memories that we would cherish for years to come.

Art and Relaxation in the Heart of the Himalayas

Our final stop was the Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery, dedicated to the famous Russian artist who made Naggar his home. The gallery, nestled amidst serene surroundings, was a treasure trove of paintings and artifacts. The kids were particularly fascinated by Roerich’s vibrant landscapes, which seemed to bring the beauty of the Himalayas to life on canvas. It was a wonderful way to introduce them to art and the stories behind each piece.

Before heading back to Manali, we enjoyed a relaxing tea break, soaking in the tranquil atmosphere and reflecting on the day’s adventures.
