Additional Information

The Akan tribe believes that a child’s name is preordained by the day they are born, and is later appended with the family name. This tradition is particularly impactful for African-Americans visiting Ghana.

Engaging with this tradition allows my clients to truly connect with their ancestral roots, solidifying their place in the Akans tribe.

The Naming Rite is performed by the queen for women and the king for men. You’ll receive an authentic Asante name which will be inscribed on a piece of Kente, along with a certificate signifying your participation in this rite of passage.
