In the morning, the driver and tour guide will collect guests from their hotel (located within Kunming’s second ring road) and transport them to the Black Dragon Pool. This stunning and quintessential Chinese park features a pool split into two sections: one with clear spring water and the other with murky spring water. Despite the waters meeting, they never blend, and legend has it that the fish remain on their respective sides. In front of the temple, there are three ancient trees: a 1200-year-old plum tree from the Tang dynasty (618–907), a cypress tree from the Song dynasty (960-1127), and a camellia tree from the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644).
After lunch, the tour will proceed to the Golden Temple, located not far from the city, to explore the history of this centuries-old Taoist temple constructed during the Ming dynasty. This temple is the largest pure copper temple in China and the most renowned Taoist temple in Yunnan. The expansive park surrounding the temple features stone steps leading through Heavenly gates up to the temple, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Visitors can unwind in the vast forest of pines and cypresses or sit by one of the tranquil ponds to experience a sense of inner peace. At the end of the day, the tour will return to Kunming, concluding the trip.
