In the morning, you’ll meet your tour guide at the entrance of the Yunnan Military Academy (No. 22, Cuihui Xi Road), a renowned military school from the last century. Discover recent Chinese military history and Kunming’s role as a military hub. From there, we’ll walk to Green Lake, the lively green heart of Kunming city. Wander through this picturesque park to observe the daily life of modern Chinese people, where local middle-aged women engage in ‘square dancing’ and elderly men play traditional Chinese instruments together. In summer, the lake is blanketed with fragrant lotus flowers, while in winter, it hosts thousands of seagulls migrating from Siberia. We’ll stroll through Green Lake Park to Yunnan University, located right next to the park, and explore some lesser-known ancient cultural sites of Kunming city.
