  • Fyksesund Bridge - The Fyksesund Bridge (Norwegian: Fyksesundbrua) is a suspension road bridge located in Vestland county, Norway.

The bridge crosses the Fyksesund fjord on Norwegian County Road 7, connecting the villages of Øystese and Ålvik in the municipality of Kvam. It measures 344 metres (1,129 ft) in length, with the largest span being 230 metres (750 ft).

Designed by bridge engineer Olaf Stang (1871-1956), the bridge was inaugurated on 9 October 1937 by Norwegian crown prince Olav.

At the fjord’s end, we disembark in Botnen, a captivating village devoid of roads. A tranquil hike through a spellbinding cultural landscape follows, leading us to the secluded ‘Furehaugen’ viewpoint, standing 180 meters above sea level. With barely 100 visitors annually, this remote site offers unparalleled tranquility.

Our descent back to the fjordside concludes this excursion. We drive back to our departure point, leaving you with memories of a thought-provoking journey.
