Highlights
  • Urbex Tour - The guide will meet you at the “Dnipro” metro station, or you can arrange to be picked up from your location.

To navigate the underground route, wear comfortable shoes and clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty and wet—you’re heading into real underground tunnels. Prepare for an adventure!

Pants should have a belt, or bring a belt separately. The underground temperature is around +12°C, regardless of the surface temperature.

Avoid bringing large backpacks and bags. It’s best not to bring bags at all, or opt for a smaller one. Moving through tunnels with large bags full of heavy camera gear is uncomfortable.

You will be provided with:
• Torches
• Gloves
• Rubber high boots (from a Soviet military protective wear set)
• Transfer between locations is included

PART 1. Depending on the season, the first part of the combo UrbEx tour involves visiting a drain tunnel system or an underground river. This segment involves 1.5 to 3 hours of walking through underground tunnels. We will provide torches and special rubber boots to wear over your shoes to keep your feet clean and dry. With an experienced guide, you will:
• Walk 1.5-3 kilometers through the tunnels
• Learn everything about Kiev’s underground world
• Experience absolute darkness
• Gain a completely new perspective on the city
Transfer between locations is included in the tour price.

PART 2. Explore one of the abandoned Cold War bunkers forgotten since the USSR era. The bunker expedition offers a chance to step behind massive Soviet hermetic blast doors into an abandoned fallout shelter. The main idea of visiting this site is to experience the era when people lived in fear of nuclear attack. The guided tour usually lasts about one hour. You will:
• Touch a hidden chapter of Ukrainian history
• See real civil equipment frozen in time
• Learn how to survive after a nuclear war

A walk in the black tunnels and back in time to the bunker - Artem was our guide and he had great patience and knowledge. He took some really good photos for us and I would recommend others to try this experience in the tunnels. The bunker is very real and certainly shows it's age but it still sadly has a purpose today due to the air raids.

The other side of Kiev you don't normally see! - To do a tour is good, but to do a tour with a guide so informative and enthusiastic makes it so much better. Me and my son were lucky to have that this experience. Really well thought out, but still feels like you are experiencing something very few people get to see. Tiring but well worth it!!

Great thing to do in Kyiv - We expected this tour to be great but even though, it was far beyond our expectations. If you have a spared afternoon in Kyiv, you would hardly find better way to spend it. I should also highlight great, individual approach of the guide who felt more like a crew member over the time of the tour.

An experience you'll never forget - A whole different experience compared to your usual vacation activities. Both places are unique and you will enjoy them. Be aware that you will have to be at least a bit fit to enjoy the first part! ;) Our guide was very friendly and helpful and tells interesting additional facts while underground. Very difficult to describe, u should do it yourself! :)

Not your usual kind of tour…. In an awesome way!!!! - I came into this tour while I was looking for another one and as soon as I was done reading the activities involved, I was sold! I’m glad I did! When I travel, I try to do 1 or 2 unusual activities and not your usual touristy stuff and this was one of them. Our guide Slava was awesome. He really allowed us to get immersed and have the best experience the whole time. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a different/unusual experience while in Kiev. It is totally worth it!!!

Amazing chance to get an unusual view of the city - Awesome trip underground into the tunnels and then to the bunker - such an unusual experience with a fascinating guide who was enthusiastic and kept us feeling safe whilst crammed into the tunnels. Seeing all the bunker stuff was incredible. Highly recommend just don't wear anything bulky :)

Amazing! - I had an absolutely amazing tour with Max! We went around the tunnels, into a bunker, a waterfall and loads of other cool places. His English was great and he is extremely knowledgable of the tunnel system and the history behind it. Thank you Max!

Fantastic experience and brilliant tourguide - Hard to explain just how good this tour is. We booked last minute and the tour guide set everything up, despite the inconvenience we provided him. Turned up near the river via the Tube and the tour guide met us. Don't want to give too much away, but you start with fitting through a small manhole cover. In the sewers (water, not poo or waste), there is a complex set of tunnels. Some small, some bigger. All fascinating! A couple of hours later, and a bit mucky, the tour guide provided transport to an underground bunker. It is full of Soviet goodies. Being English, it is hard to understand the fear that the authorities had but it is explained brilliantly by the tour guide and the artefacts in the bunker. Genuinely excellent, I would recommend as essential for any person visiting the Ukraine.
