Highly highly recommend tours - The tour was amazing. Our guide, Billy, was a wonderful guy. We saw many awe-inspiring sites in the Isle of Skye topped off with a visit to Talisker for a few drams. The real highlight of the tour though was working with Billy. He was very cordial, knowledge, and helpful in planning the day. He even helped us plan our travel the following day through Gelncoe to the south and offered us a tour, since he was available. We took the second tour offered to us for another wonderful day in Scotland. We traveled for our honeymoon with two friends tagging along.

Wonderful experience! - We had Billy as our tour guide for the past two days and he was amazing! Very informative and so patient, even with my husband who insisted on getting the best angle on every photo no matter how long it took! He took us all over the Isle of Skye and then the next day drove us to Glencoe, to see the Kelpies and then to our hotel door in Glasgow. He stopped anytime we asked and showed us so many things we would have missed by ourselves. I highly recommend Highlander Private Tours to anyone wanting to get the most out of their dream trip like we did! Hopefully you get Billy too!

Highlight of our stay in Scottish highlands! - We took a chance and booked this trip based on the rave reviews here and were absolutely thrilled! Billy was our driver/guide and was a delight to spend the day with as well as being well informed and totally flexible about what to do and where to go. The drive itself to and from the Isle of Skye was beautiful and the Isle was gorgeous. This day tour was definitely the highlight of our trip to Scotland!

Best Day of Our Trip - We did a 12-hour tour of the Isle of Sky from Inverness with Billy. Billy was so knowledgeable and accommodating and he made sure that we saw everything that was on our list and even took us to a couple of special places only he knew about. He was very knowledgeable about the area and the history and we saw and learned so much on this tour. The scenery is just breathtaking. Not only is Billy a wealth of knowledge but he is a genuinely nice guy and we enjoyed spending the day with him. If you're going to take a tour while you're in Scotland - Billy is your guy!

Perfect Day - This was the perfect way to see the Isle of Skye. We only had the day to see Skye. Kevin was a perfect host funny knowledgeable and a great driver. We learned so much about Scottish whiskeys. He went out of his way to make sure we saw the Old Man of Storr and we were so glad he did. We were able to relax and enjoy. Door to door pick up and snacks were so appreciated. It is lovely to be with someone who knows the best scenery spots, history of the area and local tidbits. We will call on Highlander and Kevin again when we are back in the area!

One and a half days on Skye, castles, and local distilleries - fantastic!!!! - My wife and I had the pleasure of Lawrence providing us a private tour to the Isle of Skye on a Sunday and a half day tour the next day to two distilleries and a castle. He and his brother own the company and do all the tours - they treat you like personal friends. Fantastic knowledge of everything, especially history and whiskey. Will use them again and recommend to all our friends!

Bonnie Lawrence! Spectacular Tour to Skye - Incredible, inspiring, memorable, everything we wanted and more. Would just be a few words to describe our experience with Lawrence/Highland Private Tours. ( one of the best tour guides!). We selected a day trip to the Isle of Sky because we wanted to cut back on all the driving and wanted an expert to show us around. We hit the jackpot with Lawrence, he was on time and ready to engage a very diverse group of friends. He explained the day to us and really was happy to go at our own pace ( which may have been very speedy compared to most ha!). Lawrence has a wealth of knowledge, he was easy to listen to and brought the history of Scotland to life. We had such a special day and blessed with incredible weather ! Lawrence is an expert and don’t worry he knows all the best comfort break spots ( so please listen to him when he tells you when to go HA). Our one piece of advice if you get in early is to take Lawrence to grab lunch at the Oyster Shack! Lawrence we hope our paths cross again, thank you for being part of our incredible memories of Bonnie Scotland !! ( Also thank you for the advice on the please to eat in Need, whiskey tour and the Walker cookie factory

Don’t hesitate to book Highlander Private Tours - Our group was so very happy that we found Highlander Private Tours!! We booked them for 2 days and each day exceeded our expectations. Lawrence was the ultimate host and guide. He was personable, funny and knowledgeable…we were sad to say goodbye to him! He was on time and allowed us to be flexible. He was able to sense what we were looking for, yet let the river flow its course so to speak. There was hugs and laughter at the end and we hope our paths will cross again!

Outsourcing isn't right - Amongst many available options, I opted for this highest rated tour with Viator without regard for the expenses. Unfortunately, Lawrence (who operates the tour company) when asked for tour itinerary asked me to go and check on the website and ultimately outsourced our trip to another tour operator. Ken Mackinnon was great and knowledgeable who went out of his way to make the trip informative and fun. We went from Inverness via North of Loch Ness to the Eilean Donan Castle and onwards to Sligachan, Portree, Uig bay and looped back via the Quiraing. Weather was great so we got to see the Old Man of Storr. On the way back, Ken brought us back from a different route so that we got to see more of the Highlands before approaching Inverness from the North. Summarizing, I hope I knew about Ken who goes by "Highland tours and transfers" and had booked directly with him rather then paying extra to Viator and another tour operator who outsources jobs to others anyways.
