Awesome experience with Simon - Simon-san was very impressive in his knowledge of Japan and Kyoto and Gion. He took us to many lesser visited angles of the district and showed us the lay of the land, customs, and hip spots and good ears all in 2 hours or so. It was a great tour. I'd say so far our favorite tour in Japan! Great work Simon

Best tour to do when you first arrive - Simon our guide was very punctual when meeting us, he was very knowledgeable and as he is English no language problem. He gave us a fascinating insite into Japanese culture knew the area and people really well. Only wish we had done this tour the day we arrived.

Very cool tour - We had a great time on this tour, Simon was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of history and even food recommendations. He took us through the back streets and we got to see a couple of geishas

Street tour - Tour guide was fantastic with great knowledge. Unfortunately we felt the group was too big and had been lost. If a smaller group would had been 5 star

Very good couple of hours to get the lay of the land around Gion - Very good tour, though somewhat rushed and hard to navigate and run to keep up with Simon among the very busy crowds. He was good, sharing good information, though sometimes more about himself than the sites, people and culture. Still, a worthwhile couple of hours.

Wonderful part of Kyoto... - Wonderful part of Kyoto to understand and learn about. It was really busy so it was hard to keep up with our guide. We actually lost him 20mins before the end which was a real shame. He moved a bit too quickly and didn’t hold up a flag for us to see amongst the crowd.

Poor tour - The English tour guide gave inaccurate and vague information from our own research and further guides we had on the following two days. Poor value for money. Viator should not be using him.

The guide did not show up - I booked 2 hrs before the tour, and had confirmation. Turned up 15 mins early, waited until 20 mins past the official start time. No one showed up to take the tour. I messaged via WhatsApp, tried phoning the contact number and left messages via the app. Two days later and I’ve still not had any replies. I’ve contacted Viator for a refund but they need to “investigate” before this can “potentially” be refunded and could take 5 days. When you’re only in a place for a few nights this can really waste a precious evening. Hopefully I’ll get the refund but there should be compensation too. As a solo traveller this really upset me.
