Interesting, beautiful, including lunch! - Our guide Juan was very informative and answered all our questions. We got to see some beautiful areas that we didn’t know about and the ride distance was perfect.

Great Way to See Kyoto! - I went on this bike tour solo with Jay as host and a couple families as co-tourers and had a great time. A part of me wishes I'd gone on the full tour to see the full city, but my butt hurt enough after six hours, so maybe just the North was enough. This was a great way to see the city and get the most out of what it has to offer without sitting in a bus or car. As an American who's hesitant to bike in cities, I felt safe biking throughout Kyoto. I am not a regular biker, but I'm pretty solid, and I probably wouldn't recommend this if you aren't comfortable biking a lot, or I would opt for an e-bike. There aren't really any big hills, but you are going uphill for a while, and you do feel it after a bit. Jay insight on each place and took pictures throughout, which he sent us after. The only question I had was that he said geishas/geikos can get married, which contradicted what I'd learned on a tour the night before, and he insisted he was right, but Google tells me otherwise. Still, he knew a lot about the city and its history. I do generally prefer tours from people who are native to the area, but Jay has lived there for many years and knew the city well. He was also very accommodating with my vegan request for lunch (which is definitely tough in Japan!) which I appreciated. Overall, I would recommend the tour if you're looking for a fun, easy way to see the beautiful city of Kyoto.

Excellent Day - We had a really good day on the cycle tour of North Kyoto. Our guide was very friendly and extremely informative on the tour. As the other members that made up our group of seven were younger and fitter, my friend and I opted for E-bikes. The ride is mostly flat and we would have coped without, however they certainly made the ride very easy. We had lunch in a conveyor belt sushi restaurant which was great fun and we had lots to eat - according to our guide we didn’t have anywhere near our allowance, so do not worry about going hungry! This was a great way to see a lot of Kyoto and we felt perfectly safe cycling the streets - I would highly recommend this tour!

Fantastic family experience - We had a great experience on the North Kyoto bike tour with our family of 5 (kids ages 12-17). Jay took us all around and made the sites interesting with his stories and background. I was pleasantly shocked when our 17-year-old proclaimed one of the shrine visits her favorite part of the trip - and it was all due to the insights from our guide. The lunch was great and Jay made sure there were vegetarian options available for those of us interested. He spent extra time with us and we never felt rushed. We felt very safe on the bikes, and we saw so much of the city in one day. The biking was steady but not overly difficult (about 13 miles spread out over 6 hours or so.) Highly recommended!

Special thanks to our tour guide Julian who went above and beyond in terms of service - biking back to retrieve my sunglasses from our lunch venue! Great bike tour definitely worth doing! - As a family of four we did the North tour. Jay was our guide. He was super friendly, knowledgeable, and safety-conscious. He took photos along the way and provided excellent commentary at the various stops we made. Our lunch was conveyor belt sushi and was fantastic! Highly recommend if you want to see a lot of Kyoto and learn about the various shrines, temples, and districts.

Great! - We had a wonderful time doing the north Kyoto cycle tour. Our tour guide was Idra, was very helpful and knowledgeable. He was also very accommodating to all the people in the tour group. The tour group was not too big, so it made the experience more personal. Overall, the ride was easy. The lunch was tasty. We had a great time and will book again!
